If you want one of those "rockin" dresses, you should make a pattern that you like, find a dress that will fit you and cut out the pattern in another kind of fabric and stitch it on, cut it up, make an extra arm coming out of it, who knows. Use your imagination, call Martha Stewart. Try to get your grandma to make it. Phish sometimes were known to wear dresses, why aren't you looking for one of theirs, I think they look just as trashy and attractive as a Melvins dress, but who the hell cares what i think :X.
