No way dood - Let it fucking rip, some of us here are honest and semi-intelligent, I know every show is not a "classic" For instance I thought the band never quite got it together at the Tacoma show. I blame that on the tiny stage.

BTW- I posted an evil rant after I got home last nite that some mealy mouthed moderator removed.
I'm sorry- I didn't realize I had to be positive and politically correct on themelvins.net

"too short" and "the sound was better (Louder but still clean) at the Seattle show".....
The sound could have been better in a tin can for most of the show...somebody hit a button in the middle that fixed something, but not all of it.
I think sound people accustomed to mixing for smaller venues get lost in that big room.
80 minutes the Portland show was not. I got there at ten (I really didn't want to see DLT) ... bought a ticket and a beer... and then they came on... I was in my car at 11:00.
The shortest show I've paid money for in a long time.
I wouldn't cut Jesus slack if he was stealing from me... I wouldn't care if he sometime plays three sets.
Yawn...(Bored)

Hi - Yeah, I was there too (the Crystal Ballroom) big. Perfect for the Melvins. They delivered a stunning set last night, Buzz was on fire man. He was wrasslin alligators with that 5 string a his. It was EPIC. I thought the sound was better (Louder but still clean) at the Seattle show. But both those shows were just stunning displays of whatever the hell it is those guys are doing. I was at the Tacoma show too, I thought the band was kinda cramped by the tiny stage, Buzzo didn't have the room to hop around like he does. Does he ever fall down?

Out of the four shows (Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia and Portland) that I attended - Portland had the best sound. Fucking huge. They also played a slightly different set. Halo of Flies and Little Judas Chongo replacing Anti-Vermin Seed in the set. The Tacoma show was by far my favorite. Buzzo said not one word to the audience at all four shows...this man is all about the bidness. They come out and slay for a good 80 minutes or so...a little too short for my tastes but hey---sometimes they do three sets so I am cutting them slack...they work fucking hard. Other than that, I am glad that I never ever ever have to see Dead Low Tide again....ever.

Awesome show. Great performance by both bands, altho IMO it could have been a little louder. Wasn't as loud as 5/11/01 at the Pine St.
however, same set as 5/18/02 (Eugene show).
My batteries died on my D8 when recording.. didn't notice it until after the show.. only got 39 min of a 70-80 min show. Got home like at 11:30! heh.
If anyone taped any shows, email me for a trade!
