Great interview.

Good interview!

Buzz's sheer drive is something that is highly respectable plus his love for dogs is quite endearing!
Great interview!

This is a great interview. The bits about marriage sum up my wifey and I to a T.
-
Splendid interview, I rarely read interviews like these, but this one was different.

Always good to hear the insight. However at this point i think i've simply read/watched too many interviews with the band. From this juncture onward, no Melvins interview should ever, EVER again discuss Baseball, politics, Kurt Cobain, the 90's Atlantic years, 'The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre' or growing up in Montesano/Aberdeen!!
-
Remember that Buzz and Dale never dictates what the interview is about.

Always got something to bitch or complain about, don't you?

Schnab is right above of course, the band can only (realistically) talk about what an interviewer wishes to discuss. But from a fan point of view, surely even you agree that it would be so much more interesting to hear more insightful things. Or rather things we haven't heard repeated before in interviews. Perhaps i am alone on this, but personally i would love to hear further about how he constructs his songs - the songwriting process, how they approach piecing together an album or working in the studio or such. Something more along those lines.

youtube has a bunch of Melvins Lessons. This is for you, if you haven't already viewed them of course.

Someone should start a thread about questions to ask the Melvins in an interview.

Yeah i've watched those clips quite a few times over the years actually. Some of the best insights into the band in those as well.
I know many people like to learn more about the musicians they admire - maybe what food they like or what movies they enjoy but for me i always want to hear about the actual MUSIC. How it is created, what drives that creativity or in how it comes together. That is ultimately what is important to me.

Do it.

I'd like to ask Buzz how Mike Patton cuts his sandwiches.

maybe he doesn't cut them at all ...
but if he does I bet ya he uses a knife to do it

Yes, as it should be

Is the quality on the lavatory impotant for the band?

I know what you mean about the subject matter of interviews. This podcast that I heard earlier today has a few things I hadn't heard before, especially the Les Paul/Nude With Boots revelation (if it isn't complete bullshit).

There's something that bothers me about an aspect of his outlook on politics, which is a popular opinion, that is nothing will ever change depending on who our elected leaders are. That both parties are the same and it doesn't matter who you vote for. This attitude and way of thinking about our government is always a big bummer, slows or stops progress, and seems to appear in some form in most of our population.
