I voted Hog Leg.

Is it possible to create a shirt that comes with a built in music player that plays Hog Leg when people stare at the shirt for longer than 5 seconds?

here's the shirt.   imagine the heading you voted for in place of the INDEEED! (unless of course you voted for indeeed!)
I think the color options were green or black. no?

green and black suits me fine, that way we get both the colorloving people and the dark and mysterious ones! =D>

Hung Bunneh.

It's obvious "INDEEEEED" is going to win, though.

Hung Bunneh.

It's obvious "INDEEEEED" is going to win, though.
after i thought it all the way through, i don't like the Indeeeed thing.
I actually thought the interview with them saying that was a bit annoying.
it's not that much of a funny word, at all.
no offense to lunica or klump though, I LOVE their design.

indeeeeed does seem a bit pointless (after i just said that, you guys will be like, that's the point, it should be pointless!)
but, we need more of a melvins reference.
indeed isn't that close to the melvins, it's just something they said in an interview.
a song title or something like that would be realllllllll good.
hopefully people will see this.
if i have to, i will delete my vote and add it to the one who will might beat indeed.
sorry if i'm kinda mean right now, i have a headache and i smell bleach.
nothing worse than that.

I don't really like "indeed" either, but I don't exactly want to walk around with something like "F*ck the Melvins" on my T-shirt.

Oh well, let's see what comes up.

The "bug and the guy" design is a nice design. It has a Melvins weirdness quality to it.

i mean, if people don't like indeed this much, we could pull together and vote for 1 we like.
did you guys ever think of that?
geez, use the power of vote.
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING
Post by: Lunica on April 15, 2006, 04:14:23 PM
how about just question marks?
i would like it to say something, but i don't think any of the suggestions are outstanding.
there should be some text on the top for the graphic look of it though.

some other suggestions:
"CAN'T DECIDE"
"SUGGESTED"
"NO HEADING"
"FUCK HEADINGS"
"FUCKFUCKFUCK"
"FART"
"OBESE CLUB"
"YOUR AD HERE"
"FANCYPANTS 4-EVER"

you all say fuck the vote, we dont like this and we don't like that.
then come up with a better idea.

why should we have votes if they don't mean anything?
if you're not satisfied with the suggestions that are already there,
feel free to add your own suggestion.
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING
Post by: glen on April 15, 2006, 04:50:51 PM
get 'em lun!!

maybe chente's idea is best.  just put a white space at the top and put whatever the hell you want.
if we're not going to vote but we want something maybe putting it in brian's hands is best.

or something like lunica said:  "UNDECIDED".

........I don't fucking know.

Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING

I think 'FANCYPANTS' would be grand; of course I'm biased.
Aside from that, I like indeed.
We could always leave it blank, and then have someone write
personalized titles in magic marker.

if magic marker didn't look like semen stains, it would actually be a great idea!

Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING

here's what needs to happen:

we need to make a new poll WITHOUT "indeed" as an option.  make it a giant poll with song titles and anything else that's been suggested. (including "don't hag me" because that's the coolest fucking one so far).
whatever gets the most votes on a non-indeed poll will be the winner and that's the end of it!  i think "don't hag me" will win.  it's awesome.

new poll
no indeed
majority rules

i'll put it together in the near future if nobody else does.
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING
Post by: Joe Deutrom on April 16, 2006, 07:58:36 PM
We should add this to the new poll: "Official Fanboy T-Shirt"

Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING
Post by: Vcavallo on April 16, 2006, 08:55:55 PM
cuz it's not as good as something melvins-related.
other things that have been suggested are better.

although....i guess deciding that indeed won't be on the poll is a bit fascist.  i said majority rules, and, it's pretty obvious that the majority wants indeed.....

so there are two courses of action, i guess.  we [the shirt makers] can be democratic and make indeed shirts, or be fascists and decide that the "majority" is really just the ones who are actually going to do the work to make the shirts.........

?
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING
Post by: Lunica on April 17, 2006, 04:32:15 AM
say what? i think indeed is funnier that a lot of the other suggestions, yet i don't rule out any of the others just because i don't like them. i'm starting to think "fuck this shirt". cause this is just getting stupid. we can put up a vote with more options if thats what you want, but why the hell should we delete the option that got most votes? maybe we should just fuck this shirt, or make something no one wants, that way, we will all think it sucks.
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING
Post by: mopafeena on April 17, 2006, 04:53:15 AM
Actually, i think i've kind of come around to the idea of having "indeed" again. I mean it was PART of the ORIGINAL design that won the vote. If you know what i mean.
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING
Post by: glen on April 17, 2006, 05:54:13 AM
you go vinny.   I'm with you. we've already had boycott threads over INDEED.
to meet the 50 shirt criteria we can't afford boycott threats.

 make your new poll vin.
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING

man, i'm tired of this shit.
and its not because you don't like indeed, its because of the way you're doing this.
forget about my design, forget about votes that don't count.
you can make your own design.

i suggest pungs one, it doesnt have any words on it.
count me out

see?  this is what happens.  everybody gets all HUFFY.
first klumpstrer calls it quits, now lun?
come on people, lets stick together and TRY to respect everyones opinions.

put "fuck glen" on there, I won't get nervous about it.  personally I never said I had anything against indeed or anything else for that matter. its a shirt. I'm not going to lose sleep over something that may or may not be on a garment I wear.

NOTHING is going to make everyone happy so....    put nothing on the shirt.  shit, put the word "nothing" on the shirt.

either we put no heading or we let vin make a new poll with MANY choices.  leave indeed as a choice, I don't care.  the problem is we have to get more than 6 fucking people to vote.  indeed won the last vote by a count of 2 votes to 1 against all other choices. thats not to solid.
MUST HAVE MORE VOTES.
I didn't have much luck drawing in the voters, maybe vin will.

yeah come on people, just because someone doesn't agree with you, you don't need to cry about it.  The mods think the indeed idea sucks - because it does.  Its just not that Melvins related, and especially if its a Kevin reference its really not appropriate.  You know?

Or you can buy a T-shirt and design it yourself. It can be a one of a kind piece of fashion. You can put "Indeed", "Don't Hag Me", "Papa Smurf Hearts Melvins", "Kevin's Fired!!!" "Jeff Thomas", or anything else your black hearts desire. It's the punk rock thing to do.
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING

Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING

if we want lunica to design it, we'll have to let her design it.  you know?
lune, if you want "indeed" then make it so and fuck everyone. the prices will just be higher.

i didn't intend to cheer for the fascist side, i was just saying it's got to be democratic or not.  there's no middle ground.
indeed won the popular vote.  if the makers of the shirt (the "government") don't agree with the design chosen by popular vote on the poll (the "people"), it doesn't really matter.  they pay the taxes, we just do what they say, right?  glen, and whoever else is going to be part of the production process, we need to either let the vote decide, or make our own price shirts for an extravagant price.  it is a calamity.

yeah, exactly!
thats why i think it would be easier to use another design with no words :)
unless you want it to say "NO INDEED". or "NOTHING" or "HEADING" or something like that.
there's no way we're gonna make them in norway anyway, WAAAY to expensive!
and to be honest, i don't want to lay any more work into it, i'm all crammed up with 34304320 tasks right now, and this shirt, i just don't wanna waste any more energy/time on it anymore. i think i'll just leave it all up to you, it doesn't really matter. if anyone wants the design, i'll send it to them so they can do whatever they want with it. if not, so be it :)
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING

indeed it is.  vinny has a point.  this is what lun and klump designed and it won the vote.

I gues if someone doesn't like indeed, then my apologies to them but....  is it THAT big a deal?
we have to realize here that there is no way EVERYONE will be happy so everyone has to sacrifice a bit.
seriously... INDEEED is fine and dandy with me.
lun and klump did a good job, all in all.  lets let their design stand.

we got lunica and klumster ALL RILED UP and bottom line is they both prolly deserve a little respect. they're old school players around here.    seasoned veterans.

to everyone:

glen and i have been trying to coordinate this via PMs. i thought i'd let everyone in to the way we were thinking of handling this, so we could see what you think of the process.  whether it turns anyone off, makes anyone feel secure, maybe someone has an idea of a better way to do it, whatever.
basically we are trying to maximize efficiency and organization while simultaneously attempting to keep it risk-free for everyone involved.  its turning out to be a very difficult balance.

here's a snippet of my most recent message to glen:

"we should take all the orders up to a deadline, which will allow us to get a solid number of how many shirts to make.  at that point i'll email everyone interested and tell them to send their payments (adjusted for their individual shipping cost, something we need to figure out how we can reliably decide on a case-to-case basis.) once we get all their payments we'll have the shirts made at the price-per-shirt that it cost figuring the number of people interested.  (whatever the total is, divided by order number) this way, nobody gets screwed.  if someone lays out the money to make the shirts, then a 'customer' backs out, that person is going to eat the cost.  once the printing is done, the shirts will be sent to a single address, the resident of which will mail all the shirts out to individual addresses.

alternatively, i sort of like the idea of having people first send a flat price payment, make the shirts, then have each person who ordered one send a second payment of the exact cost of shipping, and the Shipper will make weekly or bi-weekly trips to the post office with each batch of addresses and payments that came in in the previous period.

that is more work and more time, though.  but it seems real secure."

change&suffocation, i feel the same way.  i wish very much that this shirt had something different on it..alas, the masses want indeed...  it seems that the people who wanted indeed would be content with a melvins song title, but the people who want a song title wouldn't be content with indeed.  i don't see why we don't aim for the greater overall pleasure factor.  oh well, too late now.

does the indeed design say melvins on it too?  i think so.. i hope so

paypal - yes!
"girly" sizes - if it's possible, then without a doubt.  i don't see why it shouldn't be.

i can't make out what that big pink thing is.  do i want to know....?  it does look cozy

Paypal will work fine; although a slight surcharge (three percent?) might be added on to account for the extra fees paypal will charge.
1/ Shirt colours (one? more than one?  two should be fine for now.) should be decided.
2/ Shirt sizes should be determined.
3/  A screenprinter needs to be found.
4/ Total costs tabulated (shirt costs, shipping costs, paypal fees)
5/ Money collected
6/ After shirts received, someone to pack and send.

i think the colors decided upon were black and green.
ink color for each was a bit up in the air.

i have a green shirt with white ink on it and it looks pretty nice, though this design does have a lot of detail so i'm not so sure.

ideas welcome

Good news, I found a printer that does small print runs- this might allow us to increase the variety of shirt colours and sizes.
Place is called Kopilot.
Here's the info:

Base Prices: $5.00 per shirt for Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, Gildan, Anvil or Jerzees basic 50% cotton/50% polyester blend t-shirts. The price includes the shirt and 1 ink color. For each additional ink color or impression please add $.50 per shirt. For details on other brands or shirt styles, please call or email.

Capabilities: We can print up to 4 colors at one time. We can

that IS good news.
that's cheap!  it's too bad the shirts are part polyester, though.............

the original design is two colors, isn't it?  maybe it's worth the extra $ 0.50 to have it look "right"

that sounds great, and its cheap! theres a store close to my school that print shirts.. and you have to pay $30 for ONE.
that means we could have 3 colors if enough people wanted each color? maybe there should be a color vote just to see what people think? (those darn votes!!). you could always change indeed to NO INDEED. i have to scan the bug again with better resolution and vectorize it (unless someone else volunteers) :D

KURDTLUVUR: could you check out if they do girlie shirts?
i'm tired of cutting and sewing shirts to make them fit. (size S tend to be short and wide..)
Title: Re: T-SHIRT HEADING
Post by: Vcavallo on April 19, 2006, 07:34:47 AM
i would definitely want three colors.  the more legit these things look, the better.

i like NO INDEED!  not as much as some of the song titles, but it is very reflective of this whole process thus far, and more interesting.
i guess a sort of t-shirt inside joke developed as a result of this.  we probably have a bisected community now.  those who like indeed, and those who do not.

haha, maybe we should print two versions.  one "indeed" and one "no indeed" that way we know who's who!

well, i scanned the picture as a jpg, probably shitty resolution, but i can re-scan it..
i could use either photoshop/illustrator/indesign, or make an EPS or PDF, so thats not a problem. the tricky part is to vectorize it. well, not tricky, but booooring! hehe. unless you know of another way than to re-draw all the stuff in illustrator. i think its possible to make illustrator draw it.. i'll ask someone at school. maybe i can even scan it with high enough resolution.

yeah, i could make a shadow with another color, i think that would look good, if you're all up for paying for two colors?

for the heading.. i dunno. i don't wanna be the one to choose it!
how about BLOATED? or OBESE? just kidding. i'll leave that to all of you!

NOT trying to be bossy and suggestive but it seems myself, change, lunica and vinny are trying to solve this. let's the 4 of us pick one then.
can we pick between the SNIVLEM and no heading?
I know those are both my ideas and maybe I am wrong but I just feel these are 2 options that no one can say " I hate that" about.

lun? does either one of these appeal to you?  vinny?
change, your saying you like SNIVLEM as an official pick?

(I shall not rest until we get somewhere with this.)

You guys should vote on a bunch of other stuff too cause all the best things come from comittees.

Like when you finally figure this part out  you should vote on the actual placement on the shirt...2 inches down from the collar...maybe three inches....maybe all crazy and like all the way at the bottom of the shirt.

Then...how wide should it be...5 inches...8 inches...13 inches?

And what about mailing them out? Somebody has to pick out the stamps. What kind of stamps should be used?

Really complicate the process. Something as simple as putting crap on a t-shirt would be boring otherwise. You guys need to vote more.

i'll set up the poll.

i guess some of us are the product of a democratic society where voting is vital in crucial decisions.  we are used to voting.  we are used to having the majority vote for one thing, and then the final result be different, you know?  like everyone wants indeed, but it may turn out to be snivlem.  it reminds me of this time in florida...

really though, i think it should be snivlem too.  i'll make a poll.  no, i'm really serious.

alright.  i made it in melvins discussion.  i'm sorry to take your mock-advice, richiegoodtimes...

the poll is only going to be up for FIVE days.  the results will only be visible after those five days.  i thought that might make it calmer (and more exciting), and it is is good for the following reason:
as i said in the poll thread, if nobody likes this idea, we can delete the poll before the results are in and it'll be like it never happened.
