Melvins Discussion / Re: Pinkus Abortion Technician
« on: April 23, 2018, 03:43:04 PM »
Finally got a few spins in over the weekend!

I would say the only one I haven't really gotten into yet is Break Bread...
Pretty solid album back to front though, Buzz & Dale have to be some of the best collaborators in the business, I love how their work changes depending on who they are playing with!

Gotta love Fogerty's voice, just epic! but I never gave much...cough, cough...creedence to his guitar work, to my chagrin.

My favorite vocals of his have to be...

But I can't help thinking about 13 years earlier...

Apparently Little Richard sang these lyrics in a style too fast for Pat Boone to copy (Pat Boone "covered" Richards' first single 'Tutti Frutti')

Damn it, I'm turning into Juan

I feel like I am the only one that actually liked the song.

I liked the song as well.

Good stuff, some new territory...correct me if I'm wrong, but I really can't think of another Melvins song that sounds like this!

Luckily Porkland is a Friday.

Thanks fellas!

...when was the last time anyone saw these for sale.

Do you happen to know when the sleepytime toy was originally released?

So for arguments sake, lets say you watch a movie. Can you not mention anything about it - what you liked, what you disliked because you weren't there to experience it? That you are not allowed to have ANY kind of dialogue about it because you weren't present?

Movies are created with the intention that the viewing audience was not there to see how the actual movie was made (to keep a level of illusion in place).

Watching a youtube video of a live performance is not the same as seeing a live performance.
By definition a pre-recorded video is not a live performance.  Even a live stream of a concert is not the same as a live performance.

You can comment all you like on a video you saw of a live performance, but it is not the same as being there.  It doesn't sound the same, it doesn't look the same, it doesn't smell the same and it certainly doesn't feel the same.

Why bother watching a washed out knock off copy of an original, when you can see the real thing?  But then again I don't watch videos of performances very often for those exact reasons.

And how many times have you had to suffer through it live?

Reminded me of René Magritte

Spun the album yesterday!  First time hearing it actually.
Dude is so talented...just love the range of music he puts out (even if he is an old fart).
