And it still amazes me to see the Melvins not among the first names in that flyer but way down.
Yeah, Fishbone too. They're an amazing live band.

The Houdini version and the single version are the same exact studio tracks, only difference is they took out the bass and recorded it on Houdini and did a different mix of the final song. I personally prefer Joe's tone and the overall darker sounding mix of the 45 version. I think the Melvins did too, that's why the 45 version is on the Neither Here Nor There CD.

Interesting - never knew that it was just the bass track that was different.

I was in denial until i put both records on and played them in sync. They totally matched up.

I was in denial too. The single has a longer bass intro, then an extra section before the vocals start.

Hey smart people,. how long is the LP version of Divorced...the track sleeve for the LP is identical to the CD, except Everything after divorced doesnt make it on the press.

The version of Divorced on the Vinyl comes in after the synth pad at the beggining of the much shorter is the track.

On the CD, "Divorced" is 14:43, on the vinyl it is about 12:48.

New Question: Who has the posters with their vinyl!?!?
Yes, indeed.

Melvins cover of  "Lord of the Thighs" better be forthcoming.
That would be amazing.

The Breeders version put a different slant on it!

Melvins Discussion / Re: Songs Melvins Have Covered... The Originals

I seem to have lost CD2 of this excellent comp. Is anybody able to re-up it?

I can't remember who covered it, but someone did it on the first Small Stone "Sucking The '70s" compilation.

they kinda ran out of gas after Now I got worry.
Peaked at Orange.
Amazing live way back when.
Peaked at Orange.    =;  Puhleeze, they peaked at Extra Width.

first of all..  it's MO WIDTH.   second of all... I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually agree with pinkyslim on this one.

I'm just now hearing off these guys and I really like it!  I see they're playing in my area soon and was thinking of going but everyone thinks they peaked years ago.  Do any of you think they're still good live?

If you have never experienced the JSBE you should go!
Their drummer Russell Simmins is astounding.

The proper album was EXTRA WIDTH. Au Go Go in Australia released MO' WIDTH which was a bunch of outtakes from the Extra Width album.

Anyway, back in the day JSPX were an amazing live band, but had seemed to lose it in recent years. However, I saw them recently when they played ORANGE in its entirety and they were amazing. Interestingly, when they played a bunch of newer stuff for the encore, they seemed to have lost a bit of their power.

I miss Mark D. I don't really like "Gate" (and I haven't heard "Iraq") but his two albums are awesome. And I wish he would record more.

The whole speech ("Let that boy...") is, suprise!, completely stolen.
Just listen to old ZZ Top recordings (I think it is on Fandango) and you hear this stuff too!

It's not stolen, it's a reference to it, likewise with John Lee Hooker's "Boogie Chillun."

Primus/Melvins sideshow in Melbourne now sold out.

It's also at an aweful venue, The Palais. I don't want to have to sit down for a rock show!

They're playing with High on Fire? Nice! Why are they playing with Primus again, I thought they hated that tour back in the day.

Only opportunity for another show?
I hate that venue for that sort of gig, too.

The guitar on PRIG sounds just like the guitar on PIGS ON THE WING.

I definitely hear this.
