Melvins Discussion / Re: Someone stole my Melvins collection!!
« on: October 22, 2018, 03:28:47 AM »
Wasn't me.

If I had to start off from Scratch, then get the Trilogy and Hostile Ambient Takeover..while you listen to The cows and Hammerhead and Halo of Flies.

Followed By Senile Animal and Nude with Boots, Bull & Bees EP...listen to a lot of KARP and The Whip and Big business though too.

Then go back to the 90's stuff like Mike and The Melvins Album and listen to Godheadsilo bigtime.

Hold it in would be a good album to own, listen to some Butthole surfers.

The new Pinkus Abortion Technician and King Buzzo Solo Acoustic albums too.

Listen to some Redd Kross and OFF!

Depends what you wanted though, if you're into limited Stuff and have a billion dollars ok go for some of the Letterpress stuff like the 10"s and singles.

Do you Listen to Thrones?

Shrinebuilder?

The Dale old creepy Crover KISS Solo EP is really great, Check into Altamont and Dales new Solo Album, He's the Best!

The Venomous Concept Album featuring Buzzo...plus There a whole bunch of Fantomas stuff that never got played out that I'd like to go back to sometime in the near future for more listening.

Trevor Dunn Freak Puke Melvins lite is awesome as well, look into that one.

Shame That this was only a one off thing, I wonder how they got together initially?

Such a cool concept if you're a Melvins band member and also a Godheadsilo Fan...or vice versa?

Was this after Dan injured his hand? ..I read that The Drummer of Godheadsilo almost lost his hand and that it took like 10 years before it healed to the point where he could hold a drumstick at least when the band got back together after a long time.

The more I listen to Godheadsilo the more and more I really appreciate this album...we're lucky it was ever put out.

I'm wondering what happened in the time between initially making the record and finally having it released and why it was finally completed and released how all that came about.

So three men and a baby...All the information involving what happened between the band members you need to know is in the album title I'm guessing.

It was discussed here what Limited Teeth is maybe referring to...same with Chicken n' Dump.

The drum solo and crowd noise is harkening back to the Days of Prick...and maybe Godheadsilo "Dan vs. the world" tune.

Has anyone here heard Skyward in triumph, it's a total masterpiece IMHO.

Steven is a big guy, that Warlock Looking bass must be Mammoth sized for anyone under 6 Feet tall.

I had something like that once with black flat wounds, it was a B.C. Rich from the mid 80's,  about $400 from a pawn shop, it sounded like a Diesel truck at full blast....sometimes I miss it...same cream colour too except it had more of a horn someone chopped off so it would fit into a case...it was a decent instrument but not my go-to...someone had also filed down the frets on it to for some reason. I found the wiring was very tricky to adjust between pickups as if it was modified or something different about the configuration no one understood exactly.

It had an extremely Dry gutsy attack with no *oomph* or smooth sustain... no top end, Just pure Low end punch...it doesn't make sense on it's own sound-wise until you throw in a really heavy guitar into the mix.

You need tight leather pants and a Perm to really get the most out of that Bass.

The ZZ top Flying V bass and the B.C. Rich looking bass are so off the wall, just like the line up itself.  :D

I was skeptical of the selection for song 2. I was wrong.

I'm Dumbfounded how someone can be so quick on the draw? whats the Trick to having the faster reaction time under the 2 minute mark???

The heart pounding tension would break a lesser spirit.

I've won Ebay Auctions at the last second and outbid some Sharks in my day to the point where a victory Glass is toasted to good fortune...it's a double on the rocks, always.
