Jesus christ $50 for a fuckin EP on vinyl.

Heard Haze on a podcast talking about people complaining about the prices of this kind of stuff. I’m paraphrasing but he basically said that normally just a print would cost that much and you’re getting a record to top it off. These are considered boutique items and if you want it you’re gonna pay for it.  Not to mention these aren’t normal printed sleeves, they are screen printed if I’m correct. As he said in the Melvins documentary, these are boutique items for fans who are willing to pay that much.

I get all that but to me this is taking the piss it's just gouging the fuck out of their diehard fans. This kind of shit wouldn't fly over here if people heard that a band was slapping a few cover songs on a 7" doing a "fancy" sleeve and charging the equivalent of around $75 AU they would cop so much shit and rightfully so.

I mean at least the band could sign the damn things or throw in a full length album on CD inside too.

Sounds like you want the fancy version for a non fancy price. It’s a 10” record not a 7”. Art was made by a hand carved linocut. If you’re not familiar Maybe you should look up what that is and how time consuming it is. And there’s only 400 of em. These aren’t mass produced run of mill eps,  That’s why they don’t have run of the mill prices. If that still doesn’t make sense , then just don’t buy it. Could they be a little cheaper ...probably. But no one buys music anymore. Merch is really the only way bands can make money now. That and touring. Good for them for figuring out a way to keep doing what they are doing and staying afloat when in a time where bands are hanging it up because of not making money. If they didn’t do as well in merch I wonder if they would tour as much as they do?

I agree it would be nice for them to have a bandcamp for all the singles and rare stuff.  That or a cheapie cd for every ep. seems like they usually end up on YouTube at some point or another though

I’m surprised as that basses loaded lp went for over 200 alone  last week on the hatebay.

« on: July 04, 2019, 03:02:39 PM »
It did initially sell out. I bet someone picked media mail. Haha. It said clearly to not pick media mail and if you did your order would be canceled.
It wouldn't sell out and then come back later for thirty minutes.

It would if someone picked media mail instead of priority. I’m sure someone picked media in the panic of just getting through the checkout process, order got canceled and they put it back up for sale. Maybe it took  30 mins for someone to realize it was back up. Once I see something is sold out I don’t usually go back for it. Someone got lucky though. I put my order through the second it was up. Went back and refreshed a minute later and it was deff sold out.

Bought a new copy around '02/'03 through Cinderblock/Ipecac store. It was between $50-$60 . I can't imagine what it goes for now.

They had some for sale on the last tour. Still sealed for $200. I don’t think they lasted long nor were there a lot of em.

Can anyone comment on the sound quality of the vinyl? I keep seeing gripes about it being mastered from the cd.

Honky is a masterpiece.

It's Easily the darkest album.
It's even got a dark cover!!
Reissue not coming in a black sleeve is a crime.
Yeah I know it's blackened in part, but it's not the same.
Should have taken black cardstock as a base... or let that tape cover the whole canvas.
Either way, that mishmash of cardboard, white and black is a huge mess.
Probably would be better to let Mackie handle this one. (if skulls can be avoided this time).

Those are one off sleeves for the test Pressings. Sometimes they look nothing like the normal sleeve, so I’m anxious to see what it’s gonna turn out like.

Well these guys did no research before the interview and were obviously not fans. They even asked the how long does a tour like that take in reference to the 51 day tour. I don’t usually hate on something that’s free but Jesus lizard on a stick how many more times are people gonna ask “so two bass players, how did that come about?”

Someone upload the other track on YouTube. I’m about to buy the cd from amrep but I want to hear it now so someone get on that ASAP.

I bought the cheapy CD and 5 other titles in the same category. I don't know how you think it's someone else's cart. Just pay and GTFO. Once I've gotten it in the cart, I've always gone right to PayPal and scored it.   =;

how do people know to be there at the right time who aren't part of this forum?

I saw the Shoxop sale info posted in the sleep group a couple of times and on weedian Instagram page. We had way more competition in the checkout process this time around than normal. As I saw someone post somewhere before, don’t remember who but as the saying goes “in yo cart not in yo hands”.

Was hoping Into the Void was one of the tracks because this shit here fuckin kills. It’s in regular rotation for me. How they slow it down and the groove...something about it. The only other Sabbath cover that comes close is the EP THOU put out. All Sabbath covers. It’s some of the heaviest shit I’ve ever heard. If y’all haven’t heard it check it out.
