Melvins Discussion / Question about Six Songs
« on: October 13, 2014, 03:18:17 AM »
Hello there! This is my yearly post.

Does anyone know when the band rerecorded the Six Songs EP and other outtakes? There doesn't seem to be any info online about this. Eight Songs came out in 1991 but I'd be surprised if they waited that long before rerecording everything.

Melvins Discussion / bullhead LP - how many label versions?
« on: October 06, 2009, 07:08:03 AM »
what's up to those who remember me.

quick question - are there two versions of the bullhead LP i.e. boner and tupelo, or just the one that tupelo released under license from boner?

i bought the tupelo LP but wasn't sure whether there's actually a boner one out there...

rock the fuck on brothers.

Melvins Discussion / can you feel my love, buzz?
« on: February 19, 2008, 04:05:29 PM »
"If you're a Nirvana fan, this probably occurred to you in, oh 1991 or so, but I'm very very slow so it just occurred to me.

You know how their first album sounds so much like the Melvins, and how he's even thanked on the first Melvins album (from 1986) and was known as this kid who followed the Melvins around and worshipped them?

Do you think this is the reason they chose to cover The Shocking Blue's "Love Buzz"? So Kurt could sing "Can you feel my love, Buzz?"

Just a thought.

A thought I should have had a couple decades back sure, but a thought nonetheless."

Melvins Show Reviews / london
« on: May 04, 2007, 05:22:44 AM »
hmm, i'm surprised that no one has posted a review/comment/opinion about the london show yet, so here goes.

in short, the stuff from asn sounded really powerful and IMO got biggest cheers of the night. other than that i have to be honest and say that i've seen them better. that galvanizing vibe that you normally experience was slightly lacking.

the melvins shirts sold at the merch stand was really nice. mackie must've designed them.

over and out.

Melvins Discussion / melvins interview - news
« on: June 06, 2006, 10:21:35 AM »
dunno if anyone's mentioned this interview before but there is quite a big interview in the UK magazine Rock a Rolla (www.rock-a-rolla.com)(recommended! full of quality underground bands).

Apparently they commencing the recording of the new album on the 1st of July AND a Melvins REMIX record will come out at the end of the year.

A remix record? WTF?...

it was a classic night last night. i feel pretty priviledged to have heard all those songs. they played sacrifice from lysol afterwards which sounded great. they even did spread eagle beagle and pearl bomb.

what did you guys think of part chimp? they blew the roof of the place and I loved them. managed to speak to the drummer afterwards. also liked deerhoof and bought one of their cds. kinda freeform arty pop stuff.

more later...

Melvins Discussion / eggnog's missing 5th song
« on: August 10, 2005, 02:40:19 AM »
one of the melvins' heaviest songs, hands down, is adolescent wet dream (even though it's a cover). i think it would've fitted in PERFECTLY on eggnog. it just has that same sort of sound...

fuck it - eggnog should've been a whole album of heaviness!
