I really dig their track on Peeping Tom and unfortunately never followed up on them.

They were impressive as the live backing band for PT.

That 51 shows in 51 days tour diary they did for Spin back in 2012 is one of the best things the band has ever done IMO.

I've read all those collated tour diaries probably 4-5 times now. I love shit like that.

Also unsure about Mike and The Melvins - Three Men And A Baby. Is this a fully qualified album or rather a way late release of an album that never happened?
Actually yes, that is a tricky one. Tricky in the sense that it wasn't ALL old material. The band said 80% of the record was done but they added a few bits and did the vocals at the time it was released. So it is this strange concoction of old and new together.

It's previously unreleased though. Recorded in the studio? Yes, New material? Yes, Album length? Yes.

What's the source for this Buzzo statement? And where's the Sausages on that list?

He's said it before in a few interviews he considers CoD their best album full stop. Madness but it is what it is.

Sausages is a covers album not a 'studio album'.

This is where Buzz and I part ways, he views PAT as their 26th studio album I think it only counts as their 25th as Buzz considers Colossus of Destiny an album and their best one at that where as it's not a studio album but a live album.

I didn't think it was possible but I have to admit Stop Moving To Florida has really grown on me now.

I'm wondering what the Melvins have planned for June and July (first 2 weeks) of 2018? Recording? Golf? Yard work?
I think they only record during Winter. I suspect a combination of Golf, watching Baseball (if it's on at that time of year) and hanging out with the family.

and holding official band meetings at Disneyland.

I'd buy that CD if the international shipping wasn't so high to completely negate the cheap CD.

The Fauves said it best, when did the momentum shift? ;)

With so many talking about the spotty releases Melvins have had over the last ~decade, it has me wanting to start a new thread where everyone puts together their own 2010 and forward Best of Melvins collection that's no longer than 80 minutes.

Or maybe just do that in here?

I decided to make up a post-2012 compilation CD for my brother and gave it to him today. Even though it was meant to be the post-BB era and the start of the collaborative era I decided to start at Bulls & Bees rather than Freak Puke just because of how good I think that EP is and don't rate Freak Puke. I also decided to put the Bowie cover and a taste of the Buzz solo album at the end there for him too.

Indeed it is and so is Choco Plumbing. It puts a smile on my face as soon as Jared's vocals come in all excited and over the top.

Could you imagine if H.A.T. was released in the age of Facebook? Anti-Vermin Seed would be vilified and praised ad nauseum.

Sure rather than pass in the night with not many noticing. HAT is pure unadulterated genius, I popped it on again last week and it still blows me away.

Choco Plumbing

Surely you jest? I've put that song on that Melvins era post 2012 compilation CD I've made up for my brother.

I would rather have TOO MUCH Melvins music than none at all!

Very well said. Although I and others have quibbled the quality of the throw it all out there and see what sticks approach I'd much rather that than the 'old' days of getting a new album every 2 years or look at some mainstream rock bands only putting out a new album every 4-5 years.

There are plenty of awesome songs on these post-TBSM albums.
