Melvins Show Reviews / Re: Nottingham Rescue Rooms, October 2

Hey all, it was a pretty good show all in all. Biggest surprise off the night for me was definitely Porn, the were a lot more intense and memorable than they were on the Senile Animal tour. Big Business' sound was pretty horrible where I was stood by the front of the stage and I got the impression Jared wasn't in the greatest of moods. They played a couple of new tracks which didn't seem that memorable but the highlight of their set for me was The Drift, what an awesome song! The Melvins came on after a short while and Buzz seemed to be having a great time, smiling quite a lot which is something I've never seen him do at show before. The setlist was the same as usual and it was great to see Eyeflys, Honey Bucket and Boris performed, at least I can die happy now. Again though, the sound was pretty muddy except for Buzz's guitar which sounded awesome. Also Jared never got into the crowd during Boris which I was kinda looking forward to seeing, oh well...

So in summary, great night dampened slightly by a shitty sound.

ps. for all those equipment voyeurs (like myself) I noticed Jared was using a Big Muff instead of his B:Assmaster.

I see the B:Assmaster and the POG but does anyone recognise any of the other pedals?

I was there last night and it was absolutely awesome, didn't see Klump this time though. I wish there had been some more older songs played but I guess History of Bad Men is Nightgoat's replacement. Big Business were amazing and Porn looked like they were just jamming but it was great. Highly recommended to all of you!  :)

where it says "fear factory/syl/mastadon", does that mean that they will have fear factory, with backing vocals or additional guitar from a few members of syl and mastadon?

It'll be Devin Townsend and Byron Stroud of SYL playing guitar and bass respectively, also Dev may do some vocals. Burton C Bell of Fear Factory will be doing lead vocals and it'll be the drummer from Mastadon. Hope that helps...

In the Melvins DVD, I saw him use some Transparent guitar, I don't know what it was; but I know I want one.

A Dan Armstrong possibly?

Nah, SYL already did a great job of that.

Yep, SYL's cover of Zodiac is awesome! This album is gonna be heavy as fuck, although I'm not a fan of Dillinger Escape Plan I think 'Honey Bucket' could be at least intresting...

I believe Conda' was sent some 'unreleased' tracks by the fake Joe Preston, so don't be too sure.
