Dodgers/Braves
Did they have a rooting interest in either team?  :-s

Dodgers. We only got through 4 innings before we had to leave so they could get ready.

Melvins Show Reviews / 8/2 Paradise Rock Club, Boston
« on: August 03, 2017, 09:14:25 AM »
Show was 70mins of jam-packed Melvins. 3 songs from Lysol, and 3 from the new album. Might be my favorite set list of the shows I've seen.
first time seeing them with Steven, he seems to be really enjoying himself. He's a great addition to the Melvins family with a dash of Spinal Tap mannerisms for good measure.
Had all access passes and got to meet everyone. It was surreal watching the Dodgers/Braves game with them, something I never thought would happen. Steven was super cool and chatty since he wasn't as invested in the game.
Maybe next tour they'll hit Maine I can be home before 2am.

I'll be at the Paradise show on the 2nd.
co-worker and I decided to drive down from Maine, since they haven't played here since the 51 in 51 tour.

been listening to this finally. Death is a pretty solid album, pure Melvins from start to finish.great vibe and fresh songwriting from Buzz. McDonald on bass is simply great. Love album still have to grow on me but i like it. packaging is great.

Agree, Steven's bass on this album is fantastic, and nicely positioned in the mix too.

This forum, much like any other forum dedicated to one band or another always has a contingent of those fans who hate everything that isn't (Insert favorite era here).
This place is no different.
At least you don't see much of the people who don't like new material making snide comments to those who do.
Melvins be Melvins, whatcha gonna do?

Something else I've forgotten to mention, I really like Steve's bass work on the Death disc.

Got 3 spins on both discs and I have fallen in love with Death.
Love has a bit more staying power than I had originally thought.

I do dig "Scooba" to bits, though!

I kinda wish they sandwiched this between Christ Hammer and Cactus Party on the Death disc.

I really like the Death disc, solid 38mins of Melvins.
Love is going to take some time though heh heh what a staggering cacophony of sound and nonsense.

And the Trevor tine is so badass. I love that they have finally gone "out there" with that lineup - I mean, why shouldn't they be playing some avant garde improv jazz? More of that please!!!!!

1,000 X's this.

Here's proof my copy misses the other song line-ups in the liner notes.

only two panels?
Mine has more.
No, it's a four panel fold out. One for the cover art and the other was plain. I just showed the bits where mine has the text. What is yours like? Is there text on the other bits?

yeah it looks like the printing on your second panel is on my 3rd panel, and the other songs and who are on them is on the second panel. The back of the panels is more artwork.
I'll need to pull it out to be more specific.
But, yeah, that is odd.

I dunno, I think that since I had only heard the previously released songs when they streamed online, this album doesn't feel disjointed to me.
it does make me long for the big business and Melvins (Lite) line ups.
like I said earlier my favorite release since Freak Puke.

Damn , and Planet Distructo, it's got a Stag feel to it.  i really want another Melvins lite album

I would kill puppies for another Melvins (Lite) album and tour.

..Im sure its already in the works. Dont Tell Buzz about the Puppies thing though, he is a Dog person.

More like, I would give the melvins Puppies for putting out a new Trevor Dunn Album.

Well give or kill or just letting them sleep in my lap, whatever gets that album and tour going.
