AMAZON must be one of the most badass Melvins songs. Truly. Such a simple riff and yet it feels great to hear it over and over!!! Love the sight of Buzzo doing his Buzzo thing in the flashing lights at the beginning here.

Aw shit man I was listening to AMAZON the other day for the first time in.... too long; and had the exact same thought. This video really fuckin illustrates it!

ZZZZ Best!  8)

Let me know when you are ready for your baptism. I will guide you in the right direction. Like Melvins, if you start at the wrong spot - you may not get hooked.

i, too, am skeptical about Redd Kross... but as good melvins fans we should accept that some bands are delicate to enter and may not be “gotten” after many listens.

I did not like all the silliness of that bass player from Big Business, I prefer Steven by a mile. He may have some silly jumps now and then, but he`s generally the perfect third member of the band.

I’m with you. I think Steven is a nice counterpoint to Buzz and Dale - weird and a little giddy, but not in an overly cheeky hipstery way. More in a “damn, this guy is really into this shit” sorta way. I’m pretty sensitive to the melvins on-stage (or even audience)  atmosphere getting fucked with, but I found myself strangely ok with Steve’s adjustment to it.

Nice, thanks Vinny and Idle, it turned out well. Excellent job with the actual interview btw, good questions, and I liked that you asked Buzz about his 'career ending injuries' + baseball comment.

Thanks, man! It was a long time ago and it's pretty funny to watch myself - I was clearly very nervous and excited. If I were to do it again I'd relax and just have a conversation; which Buzz clearly wanted to do. I kept asking very "band interviewy" questions. I don't even think I said "hey how are you doing?" when we sat down hah.

also I don't know what the fuck we were doing with a VHS camcorder in 2005... It makes the interview seem like it took place in 1989!

it's been a diverse set list the last few years.  a couple new songs, a cover or two,  a couple classics, one or two off Houdini,  one or two off the Biz era.  BUT!!!! a big fat hole from the Kev era.     :(

I still haven't missed a year of Melvins live since day one on this message board. But I haven't really kept up with their recordings for a couple. So I guess you're saying this tour is likely to be similar to the previous tours - makes sense.

a big fat hole from the Kev era.
The time when they put out their best, most awesome material too!!!

I totally agree. Kevin era was my favorite era. Aside from the early days.

I'm Antonio Margheriti  "Vincenzo Cavallo"

I'm curious about the back story. Where was the tape the entire time? Was this a case of serious procrastination (Oh there's the tape, but I don't have a vcr) or maybe someone had stolen it, and great lengths were taken to recover it?

equal parts procrastination (an art over which I have utter mastery), bouts of forgetfulness, paranoia and lack of access to technological means. I’ve carried the tape around to various places i’ve lived, keeping it amongst my most well-guarded treasures (only partially for my own sake - mostly because of the bizarre life of its own it assumed due to this board.) at one time i got my parents to keep it in a safe they have at their house
my plan had always been to digitize it - as idlehanz finally did. i had a few people offer to help with that over the years but I was hesitant to let it out of my possession. nuts, i know. it was like just annoying enough to not deal with it at any given time, but important enough to me to not write off altogether. it was also sorta fun having it turn into this wacky cult legend!
Ryan was kind enough to offer to digitize the thing and I trusted him with it. I also liked that it sort of coincided with the documentary. felt like a good culmination for The Interview’s story.

I'd like to see an interview where they're asked about this site, and what they think about the current crop of fans.

in 2005, I asked Buzz about this site. He said he’s aware of it, but never goes to it and definitely isn’t secretly registered. he said “I’m not registered on any kinds of websites.. except porno websites!! but then I don’t use my real name” (hey, it was 15 years ago). he did say that he thinks “the guy who runs it” does an excellent job - way better than they’d do. and he said Dan Raymond occasionally sends him melvins-related rumors and discussion  “from the internet, but i don’t know if it’s from that site in particular” and usually about 80% of it is false.

speaking of websites, he also said most band websites are just vehicles to sell t-shirts and he never wants to do that... anyone see their current site recently..?

i remember. I REMEMBER.

i dunno man, 8 might be a better number. there were some pretty zoo-y days around here back then... handfuls-of-shit-flinging days.
I'm pretty content with a "social media network" with 8 people and the user interface this site has.
