Melvins Discussion / The Melvins - Across the USA in 51 days The Movie!
« on: November 12, 2019, 08:24:55 PM »
This came out four years ago on a black friday if i remember right. I couldn't find it in stores right away, so i ordered it online. I don't think that i've watched it more than twice. Better than i thought it would be visually, shot on only their mobile phones. Nice to get a DVD release in a year that saw just that and the rereleases of The Bulls And The Bees/Electroretard on Ipecac. I would have loved to see the Endless Residency on DVD, but alas we get this. Anyway, if i wanted a concert video i could go to YouTube. So in a way this road trip thru the states shows how life is for an underground band dealing with the trials and tribulations that come with it. What are your thoughts on this here DVD?

Your welcome! I thoroughly enjoyed it myself!

I'd say that i listen to this less than any of the other albums that came after freak puke. I wonder if it came out in the early 2000's then i'd like it more?

I never heard the song "Industrial Art" on the Melvins side of this release.  :|

I'm finally getting some proper enjoyment from The Bulls And The Bees album. Giving it the attention it deserves.

All the albums rated with short reviews. In chronological order. No side projects, live albums, collaborations, special releases, or singles.

With the guitar tuned down to drop B (I think), the same slow riff is played a ridiculous amount of times but somehow doesn't get old.

Can't wait to hear what they record next. Agree? Disagree?

Totally agree with you on the Boris riff, i think we all do!

Also i agree that the Love disc is very listenable. I listen to it as much as the Death disc.

Welcome kingdiamond! Didn't get to read all of your post yet, but what about the King Buzzo/Dale Crover/Joe Preston EP's? Though i guess they could be seen as collaborations with Dale Nixon and others.

May 10th thru the 16th, my bad. If a moderator could fix the subject line dates to read that it would be appreciated. Seems like i can't do that myself.

If you scroll all the way down there's a link for pics of the show at the Double Door in Chicago on July 8th 2015. Halfway down there is a pic of Buzz with his mouth open singing and you can see his gold tooth. My favorite pic of the bunch. Thanks volumetomb!
