I give pantera a thumbs down on name factor alone.

pantera?

does that not sound like the gayest glam-metal band name ever?

(take it easy down-eys.  I'm only picking on their name)

I won't even bring up song titles like "cowboys from hell" for example.

pantera is spanish for panther.  not really that gay.   lots of bands have animal names.  however they did start off as a half-gay glam-metal band.  i think they should be excused, though, because everything they did after cowboys from hell is pretty badase.  Even cowboys from hell showed potential and is a pretty good debut album.

i always thought down was the best band to spin out of pantera.  never bought an album, but i had a friend who thought the one down album was better than any pantera album.  he's dead, now.

what's the general consensus on cod in this forum?   good or bad?   i absolutely love it and think its brilliant.  i've talked to people who think its a joke by the melvins, but i think that's totally wrong.

i saw a news thing somewhere around the time (a)sa came out, because i remember thinking it would be (a)sa stuff, but later heard something that made it seem like it was older. i searched today and couldn't find anything.

thanks.  i'll use it for my personal records.  the review is done, and i don't think anyone really looks at this page.

i think i remember hearing about this a couple of years back.  i think the list was a lot of bands like isis and boris.  don't quote me (unless in response to this post).  buzz said it was done and they were just waiting for a good time to release it.
