Melvins Discussion / star spangled banner
« on: August 11, 2014, 07:24:05 PM »
Hey. I was wondering if anyone could send me an mp3 of the Star Spangled Banner from the Detroit Rock City single. I've got the record but need the mp3 and can only find live versions.

Melvins Discussion / skull shirt
« on: July 15, 2014, 02:49:15 PM »
Hey guys. So I got the wrong King Buzzo shirt yesterday. I wanted the one w/the card but got the one w/the skull. It came in a rubber band, so I just checked the size and put it in my pocket. If someone would like to buy it or trade it for some other merch, let me know.

wonder what happened to MadLove.  I think that album White With Foam is brilliant.  That was released back in 2009.  I suppose, at this point, MadLove must have been a temporary outlet for Trevor Dunn's creativity.

Did anyone here ever see them live?  I would be curious to hear if they pulled it off in concert.
If anyone has information about this band I would gladly read it.

I saw them in Ithaca, they did a pretty small tour and Dunn said it was a disaster. They were really good live tho, Ches Smith is a phenomomal drummer. I was hoping for a follow up album too but it's looking less likely. Does anyone else have Trevors solo album on Tzadik? Its all film scores he did. It's worth picking up if not.
The name of the disc is Four Films

I bought it when it came out and listened to it a bit. I haven't put it on since though, which is sadly what happens with most music I buy anymore.

I feel mosh pits are played out, but I'm also old. I've been in my fair share of mosh pits. If that's what people want to do, good for them.

I'll definitely be sneaking some pics of douchebag hipsters at the next show. i think i can get my wife to pose in front of them, then take the picture of them. The bar that they have been playing here in Phoenix is a place that attracts that element. They are all packed in the patio out front, smoking when you get there, but that crowd is just there for that purpose. Some of them will actually pay to enter the live music part of the club, and I commend them for at least trying to expand their musical tastes, but seriously, put away your phone! stop talking! The moshers around here are an entirely different group. And they suck big balls! Why do I have to put my elbow out, in a totally awkward defensive stance, in front of my wife and some other female i don't even know? Just to see my favorite band! What does that have to do with enloying live music?

I've probably said it before, but I love the mosh pits although I haven't partaken in years. Mainly I like to stand on the edge of a pit so I can see the stage. I'm 5'5 and fairly difficult to knock over, so that's my best shot at a good view.

If anyone wants to read my review, here it is:

I haven't had much time recently so I did it pretty quickly after only one listen, although I am familiar with a lot of it.

Gibby was singing w/Buzzo but the mix was bad. I couldn't hear anything at least from where I was standing.

I'm going. I'll be wearing a green WFMU shirt w/a cat. I'm not sure if I have an extra spot but you can ask.
