Melvins Discussion / Re: Bangers Melvins Shitkid
« on: January 23, 2020, 02:00:39 PM »
I listened to this EP for the first time today. I know in the other thread i said Shitkid suck, but with Melvins as backing musicians it's not too bad! Prior, i did think Buzz sang on a few of these songs although that is obviously not the case. Are these all originally Shitkid songs? I ask this because yesterday i saw on YouTube 'Highway' with JUST Shitkid. It made me think it is all their material with Melvins pretty much doing their own thing on the instrumental side of things.

Tattooed Love Boys is a Pretenders cover, I think everything else is original?

Helms Alee are great and I'd appreciate a split and tour very much  :)

I don't see them covering a Rush song but maybe some sort of comment on when they opened for them?

Honestly probably Honky way back when. I remember I was just starting to get into the band at the time after getting Stoner Witch, and when I finally talked myself into buying Stag there was another new album there too that I didn't know anything about, and while I thought about what to get for a minute or two (I was a poor teenager) I decided to buy both. I was immediately drawn into Honky, Stag took a bit to get into. I then  borrowed Houdini and Prick from a couple of friends which I then copied to blank cassettes and was well on my way to crazy Melvins fandom.

He said Everyone I Went To High School Is Dead was him trying to write a Melvins like song so that's cool.

I occasionally think about ordering another skeleton shirt, I bought one on the '99 tour and wore it until it was nothing but holes.

No idea what the extra two songs are.

They were playing it close to the vest.  :D

It's Carpe Diem and Female Trouble. Picked up the cheapo cd at the show last night. I didn't listen all the way through but upon first impression they sounded the same as the Sugar Daddy Everybody Loves Sausages versions, not Sugar Daddy, sorry about that.
