I think they're just doing out of print stuff. I heard they might rerelease the Your Choice Live album.

Just checked out ISIS' website, and it sounds like they might be doing a split release with the Melvins sometime in the future. Sweet. Check out http://www.hydrahead.com/isis/news.htm near the bottom for the info.

Melvins Discussion / men of porn - Dale Crover
« on: February 23, 2004, 11:21:13 AM »
Got this from their record label Small Stone's website:

Moss and Company are currently tucked away in a unamed Bay Area studio, mixing their fourthcoming release "Wine, Women, and Song". They keep bragging about how good it is, so we will assume that is is just that. As for an official release date, we can not exactly say, but if the Porn band stays on schedule, we should have this out to the masses later this Summer

Melvins Discussion / New Melvins release...
« on: February 20, 2004, 07:16:49 PM »
That was supposed to come out on Sub Pop and now sounds like it never will. My guess is it will be the Mangled Demos, since they're releasing a new album with Jello on Alternative Tentacles this year and don't want to crowd the marketplace, so to speak. Or possibly a rerelease of Electroretard, although that'll probably happen a few years down the road.

Melvins Discussion / Ipecac update

Thanks, I was wondering when they were gonna add that stuff. By the way, has anyone heard of the band the End? I searched allmusic.com, but it wasn't too helpful.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins rip offs??

I heard Joe didn't have much impact on the band, which was one reason why he was kicked out.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins rip offs??

I don't think the Melvins ripped off Earth, or vice versa. Sunn is a rip off of Earth though, actually I would call it a "loving tribute" since Earth really is no more.

Melvins Discussion / Year the melvins formed - '83 or '84?
« on: January 31, 2004, 11:13:46 AM »
I'm going with 84 since they're saying this year is their 20th anniversary. Although in Singles 1-12 on Forgotten Principles it says it was recorded in 83. I'm assuming 84 was the year that Dale entered the picture and that they started playing live.

Melvins Discussion / The cover of "Teen Spirit"

I love how when they play it live they fuck up the solo into some crazy noise, as opposed to on the album where it's pretty much straight.

Melvins Discussion / who died and made him king?

I believe Tom Flynn started calling him that, around the time of Bullhead if I recall correctly. Ask Dan Raymond.
