At the 25 year anniversary shows I told Buzz (jokingly) that I hope they have 25 more. He replied that one more year was more likley. That was over a year ago. I think we can all just count our lucky stars to have been able to see this band live or get to speak to them. The Melvins have done more in a career than almost anyone. When they decide to stop they will have left us with more material, collectables, etc. than we can ever chase down. Think about great bands like Black Flag who only put out like six albums. The Melvins legend will live on forever. I have faith that the members of this forum will make sure that this happens.
Indeed. While new stuff is great and gives you something to look forward to there's not really any shortage of Melvins material. I mean... I have 1.7 days of Melvins in my iTunes! And all of that is stuff that's been released by the band... Granted 8 hours of it is Vs Minneapolis... But yeah, there's bootlegs too. I imagine most people have seen the Melvins more than me too (just the once - but I did meet Buzz afterwards!) and there's probably some great memories and stories. As it is there is so much Melvins stuff already released that I really couldn't complain if they
did call it quits any time soon. I was thinking though... It would be great if they did a live DVD with the Big Biz guys... That's a release I'd like to see.
As it is we have Melvins Lite featuring Trevor Dunn to look forward to... I'd love to see some kind of release from that - live or otherwise.
