Break Bread B*tch!  :P

Lovin' it. Conservatively I would estimate I've probably listened to PAT like a thousand times by now every two weeks on the train rides to my mother's place I play the album twice in a row.

HAT will always hold a special place in my heart and deep down I know it's the Melvins best album but damn PAT is coming up on it's heels for me. PAT is pure art rock genius. It's a very special thing when a band can evolve to such a degree over time that they sound nothing like the same band from their pre-Atlantic material or the Atlantic years themselves or even the early Ipecac years.

The only thing that has been mentioned for this year is the Buzz 'solo' album with Dunn and tour together.

I think I read someone else say at the start of their last tour they spoke to Buzz and he said Crover has a degenerative back condition now and can't tour/do Melvins as much in future which is probably the reason for the Buzz & Dunn album/tour without Crover.

I can't tell if crybaby is being sarcastic or not.  :(

not sarcastic at all.
watching a band's live video at home while sitting at the couch and eating potato chips a boring as fuck...
however the melvins' video is just pure art. it gave me some good laugher.

You should check out the Pantera home videos then.

I was in high school and got Stoner Witch soon after it came out I may have seen the video for Honey Bucket on TV prior but I remember loving half the album and hating the other half of the album so traded it in. My brother signed up to a music club where you got like 4 x CD's for fuck all and then had to buy another 6 full priced ones over the next six months or something after that. He 'had' to buy Stoner Witch, didn't like it so sold it to me I kept it for a few months and then traded it in again lol

Fast forward to around 2002 my brother bought HAT on a whim but hated it so sold it to me and I fell in love with it still my favourite Melvins album to this day. I probably didn't get into them properly though until I bought NWB and from then on started following the band closely.

This online vinyl store from Australia are having a sale and they're selling Houdini, Stoner Witch & Stag in 'limited silver coloured vinyl' and it appears Stag in regular vinyl. Plus some horror movie soundtracks from Waxwork.

https://www.vinyldestination.com.au/discount-vinyl/

No idea if the silver coloured vinyl's are worth the price but thought you vinyl buyin' animals might appreciate it.
They're the recent Music On Vinyl releases. The prices are good in Australia. They're retailing for around £22 here.

Cool thanks I see Houdini is sold out now.

There are a handful of ultra-liberal douchebags on that forum. I love that they're pissed at Buzz now. I agree with what Buzz said about Bernie Sanders 100%.

I'm a lefty and consider Buzz's political opinions to be myopic rubbish but just reading that one page linked to a few of those guys do sound like complete and utter douchebags.

many people on here seem to hate Tool but you can tell on this board there have been more discussion about Tool lately  than about Melvins

Tool are a pretty big band, both bands are friends and closely aligned. A lot of Melvins fans seem to be Tool fans and also into stoner/doom bands neither of which do much for me but each to their own.

I listened to a recent Buzz interview yesterday where he said he has 700-800 songs half written at home!!! I guess that is more "ideas" or parts of a song. But still, that's a lot of material.

He also said they recorded over 50 songs with Trevor Dunn at the time they recorded Freak Puke and they've never been released.

Jesus christ $50 for a fuckin EP on vinyl.

Heard Haze on a podcast talking about people complaining about the prices of this kind of stuff. I'm paraphrasing but he basically said that normally just a print would cost that much and you're getting a record to top it off. These are considered boutique items and if you want it you're gonna pay for it.  Not to mention these aren't normal printed sleeves, they are screen printed if I'm correct. As he said in the Melvins documentary, these are boutique items for fans who are willing to pay that much.

I get all that but to me this is taking the piss it's just gouging the fuck out of their diehard fans. This kind of shit wouldn't fly over here if people heard that a band was slapping a few cover songs on a 7" doing a "fancy" sleeve and charging the equivalent of around $75 AU they would cop so much shit and rightfully so.

I mean at least the band could sign the damn things or throw in a full length album on CD inside too.
