there are many harry nilsson songs i'd rather they covered, but i do dig their take on you're breaking my heart.

also i wonder if they're familiar with this, or of if it was just a coincidence:

cannot wait to watch this doc.    saw the psychos open for melvins in '99. it ruled, of course.

just found the ticket stub the other day.  it was $10 for more rock than any human could handle.

that 01 irving plaza show sounds flippin great. really brings me back.  i can remember exactly where i was standing. if i recall correctly i drank between 4 and 11 beers.  wish the files were broken up into individual tracks, but it's a minor quibble. kinda wild how long youth of america has been a staple of their sets.  anyone know when they started covering that?

Hey hey all, here's yet another live show for you. I'm trying to get these out before I get too busy fixing the house.
Melvins - 4/28/01 - New York, NY at Irving Plaza - Another great soundboard by my departed friend Jeff Sebastianelli.
I uploaded this as 2 files, since its 2 discs and some of you have had a hard time downloading these larger files.

oh shit missed this one.  i was at this show too. cannot wait to hear it again.   folk implosion and skeleton key opened.

amazon was enormo at the los osos show. the venue was tiny, easily the smallest room i've seen them in except for in-stores. low ceiling and the stage like a foot off the ground. place was smaller than pappy&harriet's, which is pretty dang small.  and that song just sounded so huge.

it was easily one of the best mlvns gigs i've witnessed. my gf said it was her all-time favorite, and she's seen her share too.  the place got soooo fuckin rowdy. people in off-the-beaten-path locations really appreciate when artists make the effort to come their way. at the end dale said 'seeya next year.' if they do go back, i'll def be there.

thanks for those excellent vids. seeing the melvins in that setting was a real treat. watching dale from underneath gave me a helluva angle of the master at work. i'm glad i made the trek. just wish i could've afforded some of mackie's and haze's art.

might have to make los osos. i discovered that area during a roadtrip a few years ago and was looking for a reason to go back. only problem is it's during ski season. mlvns should play mammoth.

Still have the ticket to this show in my The Maggot CD case.

nice. i was at this^ show.  i brought a girl i was kinda sorta seeing and for her the gig was.... overwhelming. she wasn't used to that level of heaviness.  shows in that room were notoriously loud, and that night was no exception of course.*

wasn't my first melvins show tho. i caught em in 97 and 95.  not really sure how i got into melvins at first.  i have a vague memory of impulse-buying 'bullhead' at kim's on bleecker. that might've been the conversion

(*loudest show i ever saw in my life was six finger satellite at the knitting factory nyc)
