Second listen through and I am loving it.

Just because Dunn was added after the rest (mostly) doesn't mean it's not a collaboration. The bowed bass, soloing, and counter rhythms are stunning. I hear Dunn's work like the first Gnarls Barkley record or Patton vs X-ecutioners. It transformed the record and are now a core essence.

I don't expect these tunes to become a staple of Melvins sets and that's fine. It's generally soporific. Good for headphones and long walks.

The synth noise sections are perfectly placed and add some needed variety, too.

I still hope we see a proper Melvins follow up to A Walk with Love and Death this year. But between this, the EP, and the collab EPs I think Buzz is really doing right by us, the fans.

And as a real estate developer in the seventies Trump was consistent with the whitewashing strong arm of New York continuing in the footsteps of the Bureau Authority. (Watch Motherless Brooklyn for a slightly fictionalized retelling of this true horror story.)

Agreed. I basically refuse to buy into whatever uber limited vault approach he's taking with these songs. If it's not good enough to publish for you, Mark, I just don't need it.

Luckily he's got a half dozen albums that keep on giving.

It should be hard to stick the Melvins as alt-right if you take Jelvins into consideration. "Should" clearly doesn't apply in cancel culture because stupidity. But yes, I've worried for how that appropriated fascist imagery would fare in this modern age if anything ever came up like this. Weirdly enough that probably makes me a Nazi memorabilia hoarder for being glad I got my original Electroretard before it could be canceled.

Finally got around to this and I'm most of the way through it. I like hearing some of the reputations the bands had (like RKL and Flipper.) It's funny hearing the host try to inject all this sort of modern punk reverence and Dale just doesn't have the context for it. I'm curious if Dale listens to anything on Fat or Epitaph even though he's technically in 2.5 punk bands at any given time.

Doesn't it suck we have eaten less human connection than usual?   8)

^^^ showing you all how I misread that.

eBay kind of fucked up when they didn't just embrace snipe bidding a evade ago. It was only seen as a problem. Snipe bidding means the system gets less bids overall. People spend less and don't tend to bid on multiple auctions as much. Public bids drive up prices and snipe bidding likely leads to lower conversion. It also takes the emotional fervor out of the ongoing bid narrative in most situations.

But snipe can't really be prevented. It's one way to play the game.

So users have to use third party sniping instead. It blows. I hate automation. But an in-house snipe would allow eBay yo charge an additional fee for that type of bid like they do with Buy It Now.

I really don't buy on eBay anymore, though, just because I've gotten so much low quality junk over the years and can buy from the artist or Amazon or Bandcamp or whatever download option is available.

I can't wait to hear it (but I will resist the temptation to pirate.) I love when Buzz goes somewhere he's never gone before. "Kicking Machine" or "You Knew I Was Crazy" or "Black Heath" or "Goose Freight Train" or "Black Bock" all come to mind.

Isn't Comm 23 the Melvins/Nirvana split?

I'm still convinced Prick has an inside meaning about the ambitions of a former bass player. But that's just my speculation.

From what I read, you can just play the Smash the State EP or any Halo of Flies record and you'll be contented.

I honestly can't recall if I ever heard it myself.

This may sound harsh towards Haze which I don't intend, but this release is more or less a hoodwink like 'Shit Sandwich' from roughly the same era.
