Melvins Discussion / HDYF MOFOS!
March 16, 2020, 07:03:29 AM
Now here's a tune that really needs more of a light shone on it here....

I've revisited Singles 1-12 discs and holy shit....there is some stuff on it that is just supreme. But if there can be only 1.....it's HDYF. It's a track they really need to present live again as it's their crowning fucking glory....well that's my attitude since revisiting it again haha

Melvins Discussion / HAT B-Sides
March 11, 2020, 01:50:09 PM
Melvins need to re-release this on 2xCD or 3/4x12" box and include the b-sides.

I haven't heard the b-sides in a number of years so hook a brother up!

So as you're all aware the set is on YouTube and the audio is shit-hot which was great as they really were firing on all cylinders with the BB boys that night. On top of that the set-list is brilliant and the live sound is absolutely incredible....you've heard the term capturing lightening in a bottle....the guys were clearly in total control of thunder they'd capture in a bottle that night. I'm convinced amplified bass & guitar is a 2nd cousin of lightening & thunder.....after all it is electric and bands at Melvins level during their live shows clearly contain the outta control thunder clap and manipulate it to fit beautifully in between the rigid rhythmic structure of the drums!!!
And the fit was great in between Coady & Dale.....which brings me to this question....that Hellfest live set should be officially released along with digital video of it. Records & DVD can never capture that magic of the live set but hey popping headphones on and watching the video at full volume gives you an idea of what it is that makes them special live.
The other great thing about that Hellfest set is the fact all those folks getting their skulls pancaked have most probably never actually seen or heard Melvins.

Melvins Discussion / Super Rare Melvins T-Shirt!
April 27, 2018, 11:24:34 AM
So I saw Jah Wobble & The Invaders Of The Heart last night and man...one of the dopest live shows ever. But anyway....his roadie had a DOOOOOOOOPE Melvins shirt on. I'm just wondering if anyone is aware of it...it looked vintage & legit. It featured Melvins in Kiss font along top of chest and an image of Buzzo but it's a skull with the fro.

Melvins Discussion / The Melvins Edinburgh Date
February 23, 2018, 08:46:32 AM
So a few days back I got a shocker of a surprise to see Godflesh have been booked for an Edinburgh date.
It's obviously VERY rare that THAT type of band gets booked here. My old heroes tend to ALWAYS play Glasgow which although only 1hr away from Edinburgh is always a nightmare getting back from.

ANYWAY.....the kind folks who booked Godflesh are also hoping to book a Melvins Edinburgh date for their upcoming Euro/UK tour.

So my question is......have Melvins ever actually played an Edinburgh date?

Glasgow is good for killin or gettin pished & pooned but Edinburgh is super pretty and historic so what gives?

Melvins Discussion / Euthanasia

Has there ever been a more menacing, foreboding and terror inducing riff? It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Did Buzzo make a deal with the devil for it?

Best Melvins song ever.

Is anyone aware on how you can tell the difference between bootleg & legit Melvins/Nirvana split 7" on coloured vinyl on the Communion label?

They were devastating and in fine style indeed. Probably the best live incarnation yet for me.

Melvins Discussion / NZ/OZ 2013 Tour Posters
December 03, 2013, 04:18:55 AM
Do we have any tour posters for these tours yet??? My brother is taking his daughter and wife to the Brisbane show simply because I've loved the band for over 20yrs. My niece loves rock'n'roll and my brother is a huge Hendrix fan so I'm sure they'll love the show....my brothers wife is a timid South Korean lady who has never been to a live rock'n'roll show before. I'm also trying to find out if Melvins are on before or after Helmet.

Melvins Discussion / Who Are These People??!!
July 23, 2013, 03:24:45 PM
Who are these freaks that sell vintage Melvins shirts on eBay for between $300-$500 Buy It Now??? I mean do folk actually pay that much for a friggin t-shirt? And listing something on eBay with a Buy It Now costs a decent amount of money...especially when you list it at a large price!

So my question to you is.....how much are you willing to pay for a vintage Melvins shirt?

I'm not sure if this Heavy Rock release has been mentioned yet........anyway I buy quite a few records from a huge online shop in the UK called Juno......they don't mess around....99.99% of the stuff I buy from them I get the very next day. ANYWAY......I was checking the Melvins Everybody Loves Sausages and noticed the upcoming release on Ipecac called "Heavy Rock". I take it this must be the title of a new album of original material? They're also selling Chicken Switch for £2 brand new hahaha
