I added some footage on the first post by the way. Forgot to do it initially.

thanks for the review.  I dig the Mohawk

I love it too. It's nice having multiple bars. I love the whole Austin scene!

Is the Mohawk stage outdoors?
Thanks for the review.
It's a great venue to go to if you are ever in austin.

Topaz, I noticed how Steve kept falling his hair it was actually pretty awesome having not been used to seeing long hair, glad you enjoyed the show!

Thanks for the pics. The Mohawk also has an indoor stage, but it's super tiny.

The venue has remodeled and put in terraces facing the stage. Three levels I think. But I preferred to be on the ground!

Of course it was a tremendous show as always! The venue was PACKED. The outdoor stage made it fun, and it was the first time that I had seen flashing colored lights on the stage in sync with the Melvins' set. (OK, so maybe it belonged to Napalm Death. Who cares. )

The set list was awesome. My only complain is that it included nothing from Houdini. Oh well. They played two songs from that album last summer when I saw them, so no big deal. It WAS cool to hear "Eye Flys" as the opener, though.

All songs are highlights at Melvins shows, but the ones from last night included "Sesame Street Meat," which really got the mosh pit activated. What a great down-and-dirty song. Other highlights included the KISS cover "Deuce;" the new track, "The Decay of Lying" from War Pussy; and of course "Revolve" toward the end of the set; that one got the crowd the most riled up.

Steve McDonald looked awesome up there, totally hamming it up and fitting right in. Someone once mentioned that they were so glad to finally see a long-haired bassist. They were right! By the way, if you've never heard any stuff from his band Redd Kross, I definitely recommend going over to YouTube and checking some out.

Until next time, Melvins!

Does anyone know if they are still selling those glass medallion-type images/sketches of the band members on this tour? The sign said that Buzz's wife made them. I didn't get any last summer, but, if so, I can get some tomorrow night in Austin.

Melvins videos and much more.

http://www.themelvins.net/forum/index.php?topic=8413.msg133264#msg133264

Or show reviews, if you can find one and feel that it's pertinent.

You can start new threads of show reviews, if they don't already exist for that particular show.  :nerd:

Thanks. I was especially curious to see footage that users here have taken themselves.  :)

In the opening line of Bride of Crankenstein (Hold It In), Buzz sings: "What was that shit you sold me?"
True.
Except Pinkus sang it. Nice contribution. Welcome.
That is Pinkus singing? It sounds just like Buzz.

Thanks for the welcome. This is a cool place!
Pinkus sang it on the tour. It sounds more gruff than Buzz on the record.

Yer welcome. It was a cool place (before I showed up!  :D )

 :D

OK, I guess I should've checked the album credits... duh.

I was directly in front of Pinkus during the show last summer, and I don't recall him singing lead on anything. I guess they didn't play certain ones from Hold...  :-k

I'm new here. I'm wondering is there's an existing thread for users to post self-shot Melvins video links/footage from shows. Thank you.

I have trouble listening to the first 4 tracks because they sound too polished and commercial (e.g. Revolve). It's a good introduction for newbies, though.

Stag is the kind of album that I go back to occasionally to see if it will grow on me. It hasn't. Too "out there" for me I guess.

Although... it does have Buck Owens and Goggles.
