Anyone here see this go down, and is there aud/vid out there? Was this a one-time event, or did Amber sing "Teen Spirit" every night on a Melvins/Jucifer tour around the time of Maggot/Bootlicker?

Jucifer were just in town this week. Passed this time, unfortunately. They played Monday, but the day after Whores. in Buffalo., so I didn't feel like two nights in a row Sun/Mon.  and then Wednesday in Rochester. Didn't make that one either, if it had been tonight, yeah. Maybe next time.

Melvins Discussion / 51/Lite Tour Docu
January 31, 2014, 08:40:47 PM
So, what's the status of this alleged DVD/documentary? Anyone in the know? I just got done watching "Some Kind Of Monster" for the first time(on recommendation from Buzz), and yep it's fucking both hilarious and depressing. Amazing what massive fame and a shit-ton of money can do to a band.
I wonder if Melvins are gonna make this just a thing for the us dedicated fans, or actually try to make a legit film out of it where it would screen at Sundance & shit. Either way, I still want to see a film of that tour.

Melvins Show Reviews / Syracuse 7-27-13
July 28, 2013, 12:46:18 AM
Just got home from my 13th Melvins show. That one was definitely in the top 3 for me. Great venue & crowd. No real problems being in front. A few douchebags started a small pit during Night Goat, just a minor annoyance. Highlights were Your Blessened & Hung/Bird. I felt like I was hypnotized or in a trance during those Lysol tracks. Shit, every song was great. Lizzy was funny with more lyric mutations.
Pinkus really killed it with them. And how awesome is Coady's suit? Looks like Devo "New Traditionalists" era! Honky was alright. Didn't make me want to buy the CD or anything, but they were decent.
They're stocked back up on Freak Puke LPs. Bought that(Skinner art!), the Bash 13 CD, and the bunny shirt. Walsby was cool as usual behind the table. Oh I grabbed the tour ad poster off the front door on the way out. I was gonna ask security, but they were busy so I just grabbed it and went on my way. I loved that there was just one opening band, a 20 min break then the Melvins deliver the set without wasting your time running late or anything. No rockstar BS. Show over at 10:30. Perfect when you got a 2 hr drive home.

plus a little Van Halen & Slayer thrown in. This show absolutely ruled. I about shit myself when they started this song.

One of the best Hank shows I've seen yet. Thanks to San Pablo Bay for an awesome filming job.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins double trio
June 04, 2009, 05:13:44 PM

How great would it be if the current Melvins four piece added two more and toured/did an album as a double trio like '90s King Crimson?
Buzz/Dale/Jared/Coady/Trevor/Adam

The Melvins Sextet if you will.

Melvins Discussion / Houdini demos
February 01, 2009, 09:51:29 AM
I've been wondering lately if there are any, and if anyone's heard them. I read an interview with Buzz once, in that Lorax originally recorded all the bass parts for Houdini. The timeline is a little unclear to me, but she was back in the band in late '92/early '93, right?. Then when she got the boot for good Buzz wiped all her bass parts out  and had various people play them(credited on the CD), although her picture is still on the back cover.

like Ween did, so we can all vote for songs they've never or have rarely played live. First one I'd throw at 'em is "Respite" from the Crover EP. That's a winner right there.

Melvins Discussion / Morningstar Rising - any video?
August 16, 2008, 05:10:37 PM
Anything up on youtube yet? I have to see and hear this. I was a little bummed Moss didn't play a set in Rochester, and I'm not sure if he did in Buffalo because I got there right when Big Biz started. Anyone who was there see it?

Also has anyone asked Tim when the Porn/Merzbow CD is coming out? Jesus, this release could turn into a Chinese Democracy

Someone should tell Hank you can get E-tard at shows for $5 and it's easy to find used. I feel bad for him that he's never seen the Melvins live. He said they're always touring at the same time and they almost crossed paths once in Australia '97. I think Rollins on stage as guest frontman with PORN would be pretty colossal.

Set Me Straight -
"From the crushing Houdini album. This is the band we get letters about, letters asking why we don't play their music more often. Duly noted, Fanatics, duly noted. I have quite a few albums of theirs but not all of them. I will put more Melvins into the mix. It's not like they're not awesome. This was the first Melvins record I ever got. I know that makes me late to the game but what else is new."

The bottom one is at Graceland. Is that Mark D in the cowboy hot in the top one? I thought Hank toured with them around the time of the Trilogy. Or maybe it's from the Mark D. era, when the Melvins came through Nashville and were just hanging with Hank.

According to Ipecac, AntAcidAudio will be releasing it, titled "The Monkees Uncle". An east coast tour would be nice too.

Melvins Discussion / Ever have a Melvins dream?
December 11, 2004, 01:53:56 PM
Last night I dreamt that Colossus Of Destiny was released in gatefold colored vinyl like the Trilogy set, just in time for Christmas. And I ordered it from Cinderblock.

Melvins Discussion / '50s Sci-Fi influence on Melvins
November 14, 2004, 11:49:40 AM
Last night I tuned into channel 19 out of Toronto and they had the movie "Forbidden Planet" on. It's from '56, Leslie Nielsen's in it, takes place on another planet in the year 2200.

There's this robot in the movie that looked very familiar. I pulled out the Trilogy set, and there he was, exact same one! His name is Robby in the film. Had the closed caption on listening to Sabbath, and I see across the screen in a dramatic scene between the two lead characters - 'You fool, you meddling idiot!"

What other old movies have influenced the Melvins?
