I can see the working metaphor of "the talking horse" having several meanings. one being like you said, a person who is forced to work or slave for something they submit to yet, don't understand or beleive in completely.

I don't try to get too racked up tryng to decipher anything by the melvins anymore.

If they wanted us to know what the songs were about, they'd probably write more direct lyrics.

I know there is deep meaning in most Of Buzz's lyrics, They have more impact when they aren't clear and might have more than one meaning, and you can never be sure of the subject matter, well when you know you know, melvins may be writing about something plain and ordinary for all you know, but it would take some brain work to decpher anything completely. It's part of what makes the melvins so special.

I think it's part poetry, part truth, and part non-sense and part Brilliance.

Alandra, I'm surprised you haven't covered this as The Talking Norse.

Upon second notice...I guess not.

Hey! He knows Glen! He must be cool
Welcome, and cheers.

I might be in a minority but i've never really cared about what any bands lyrics are trying to say or in what they may mean. As long as they dont come across as cheesy and they fit within what's happening in the music im happy.

i think he just cuts lines of text out of a book, throws them in the hat and voila lyrics for new song

Maybe Buzz or whoever wrote the lyrics, read a book about  ancient gods and was inspired
