Ok, the week is going by way too slowly, maybe you need to make this a "melvins Song of the DAY" if not melvins song of the hour.

Melvins - Honky - 02 - Mombius Hibachi

Here is the next song of the week! In my opinion this is one of the highlights of the experimental/weird and cool album Honky.

Label:

Amphetamine Reptile Records

ok i was young when i first heard this album, this was the only song my mind could comprehend (at that time) and i loved it , so it was always the song on that album i went back to, also prohibiting me to further explore the rest of the album, but when the time came that my mind was able to open up enough to absorb this album , i was changed

Right there with ya.

I can't speak for parentheses guy but I guess I'm less of a fan of the avant-garde/sound-noise stuff.  So...Pigs, CofD and Honky are the least listened to for me.
I think its really cool that flutter nut and others dig Honky.  I feel like I'm missing out on something special and I only have myself to blame for not giving it a proper listen.  It's just not the style of melvins I prefer...?

But this song is gold!  I like the loud-quiet dynamic, the vocals, lyrics.  I like the Fantomas' version too.

Wonder why this never made it on to Bullhead?

First time I heard it was on the salad of a thousand delights dvd.

Same here.

Honky is amazing. A Melvins album that didn't get my proper attention until not too long ago.  I see where you're coming from, Homeless_dad, but I most definitely wouldn't call it avante-garde in comparison to POTRE or COD. It's weird, yeah....but that's just a Melvins requirement.

Mombius is good heavy-Melvins. Love the bass line.... and the crazy drums....
I think we should put it in a jar labeled 'melvins'

Newest song of the week:

Melvins - The Bloat

This song reeks of awesomeness. It's all about the bass on this dandy of a song. Stag happens to be my favorite Melvins album and this song is one of the reasons why.

Enjoy.
