"SwingSet you look like a bunch of guys I know in Ireland.  It's a particular  look I can't describe.  A sort of don't fuck with me or I'll kill you look.
I mean all this in the nicest possible way of course"

A few songs on this album, like the opener, have a strong Altamont vibe going on, more than the Buttholes sound. Naturally the ones Pinkus sings on sort of sound like a weirder version of Honky. Love it, it's like perfect 21st century rock for bikers who hate weak crap like Black Label Society, and bullshit oldies like Skynyrd.

So overall I love this album. The songs and performances are awesome. The one thing that bothers me is the recording. The records are always missing the high end to me giving the listener a sort of muffled sound. It's been that way for a while too which is sort of sad. I think it bothers me more so with this album because it's my favorite record since HAT and I wish it sounded better. Give me back my high frequencies please.

(If you don't believe me listen to each of the songs below back to back at about 30 seconds in back and forth)

You know, I actually noticed this too but I just thought my hearing was bad. I find myself turning it up louder than usual to "hear" it all. It does have that dense kinda muffled sound. Although I can't really think of any other release that has the same muffled sound.

Dan_Halen

I hate to be negative but it's been bothering me for a while now. Freak Puke could have sounded so much better too.  :?
