Review from Adelaide, SA:

QuoteBuzzo approached the mic, only to let out a grunt before striding around the stage manically strumming a deep, pounding riff. His 30 years as front man of a metal band were certainly in play, as he leered over the edge of the stage and glared at the crowd, before moving to the other side of stage and doing the same. The crowd jumped in shock when he unleashed his voice onto them for the first time. Deep, dark and totally unique, the words snarled out of his mouth. This was an acoustic solo show King Buzzo style, i.e. pretty damn heavy.

Having seen the Melvins multiple times without once hearing Buzzo address the audience, it was a surprise to hear him talk. Possibly provoked by not having the brutal drumming or scuzzy guitar feedback of the Melvins to hide behind while drop-tuning his guitar, this made for an even more intimate show. It wasn't a quick "hi" either; he gave the audience the chance to vote whether they wanted to hear a story about his friends Mike Patton or Iggy Pop. It was no surprise, judging by the Fantômas and Mr Bungle shirts scattered in the crowd, that he told a disgusting story about Patton.
