I'm not very familiar with Redd Kross. What should we expect?

Does he have the same gear all the time? I'm watching the live on KEXP video right now and see a sunburst Fender P-Bass and an Ampeg stack.

Are his on the road antics as legendary as Pinkus, Trevor and Jared?

How much ass will that War Pussy 10" kick?

Will the band cover a Redd Kross song or two, like they covered Butthole Surfers songs with Pinkus?

I'm guessing they'll cover Linda Blair.

Steven also plays in OFF! so might get a lot more of the punkier songs in the set, but he's a great player so he can easily handle anything from their back catalogue.

GiveMe45

Yeah, for a tour with Napalm Death maybe the set will be on the faster and (even) heavier side.

OR maybe they'll pull one of their wacky Melvins screw with the crowd's minds thingys and come out and just play The Bootlicker in it's entirety....

Steven is one of the most energetic, glad to be here, Bass players I've ever seen!

I just  the energy he brings to the stage.

Guys, guys, guys...

What if there was a Melvins/OFF! Tour...

WHAT IF they played some songs on stage TOGETHER...?!

WHAT IF THEY RECORDED ROGETHER?!!!!!!!

Bengerman

Are the Melvins headlining this tour? I hope so. The last time I saw them where they didn't headline was Boston with Down. I hated Down.  And I hated the Melvins not headlining. The only reason down headlined is cuz of Phil ass-elmo. Maybe he's a good guy but he seems like a douche. I don't think they headlined the geek show with Dalek and tomahawk either but at least that was worth waiting around for.

Last time I saw them open was at the place they're playing this time and I thought it was the worst Melvins show I ever saw, sound wise. They were opening for Tomahawk, who are one of my favorites, and I didn't even think they were that good, compared to their first tour. I hope this show doesn't completely suck (meaning non-melvins forces overwhelming the situation), to be honest.  :(

I am so fucking stoked for this. Redd Kross and Melvins are my two favorite bands in the world. Steven McDonald is one of the greatest living bass players today. Not only does he play in Redd Kross and OFF! but has also played with Beck, Sparks, Anarchy 6 and Tator Totz.

I am hoping they play a couple of Redd Kross tunes - Dale is a huge fan of Redd Kross. I am hoping for Linda Blair and Kill Someone You Hate.

And for those not down with the Kross just yet - get with it!

And THANK GOD Melvins are not headlining the tour! I am hitting all of the west coast shows and it will be nice to leave after the Melvins set. I will be sure to catch Napalm Death at least a couple of times. But this will allow me to get more sleep! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!

i guess it will be cool to leave earlier but this means the Melvins probably won't play as long. So what goes into determining the headlining band?  Album sales? Seniority? Melvins have been around longer I would think. It can't be credibility cuz the Melvins have more cred than anyone and probably influenced napalm death. Are the Melvins just not concerned with the pissing contest involved in who's going to headline?  I don't see them getting caught up in the bs. But damn. Who the hell would want to follow the Melvins. Kinda like the story of weezer following iggy pop. (In my opinion anyway, I've never been a huge napalm death fan)

meezer

Weezer actually played before Iggy. He was on the side of the stage watching in disbelief, then pulled the mic drop in his set after the enthusiastic response to his question about "did you enjoy Weezer?".  :nerd:
