Announcing our new, double album, a first in Melvins history:
A Walk With Love and Death, out July 7 via Ipecac Recordings

Not only new music, but also short film of the same title directed by
Jesse Nieminen, watch there trailer below!

Buzz, Dale and Steve bring forth Death, a proper Melvins' release and Love,
the score to the Jesse Nieminen directed, self-produced short also titled
A Walk With Love and Death. A release date for the short has not been
announced yet.

Buzz: "This was a huge undertaking. All three things: the album, the
soundtrack and the film are benchmarks for us."

Dale: "A Walk With Love and Death is one giant, dark, moody, psychotic
head trip! Not for the faint of heart. You'll sleep with the lights on after listening."

Guests include: Joey Santiago (The Pixies), Teri Gender Bender
(Le Butcherettes/Crystal Fairy) and Anna Waronker (That Dog).

A North American tour is in the works for this Summer with dates
to be announced soon.

I couldn't watch the video properly because I have a very shitty internet connection here (and this laptop is a piece of shit, too), I'll watch it as soon as I get home. By the way, I just could see a few images of the video but it seems to be very "Seawhores(ish)" in its aesthetic.

hey the ether bunny, that was fast, thank you!

So they included "Euthanasia" as well... assuming it's the well known cover song and not a new one.

Now that is something I wasn't expecting

I'm willing to bet the vinyl version has some disc 1 songs on side A and disc 2 songs on side B.

But jokes aside I'm really excited about this album and if there's a band that can pull off a solid double album without the obvious "they could have cut a few tracks" it's gonna be The Melvins. I second the comment of EUTHANASIA!!!

EDIT: I also noticed "and other delights" a few seconds in from the Herb Alpert Whipped Cream album as well. If that teaser video is any indicator of the short film we're in for a trip.

Holy shit. I felt so sick today I had to go home from work and couldn't even enjoy it, but this is a real pick-me-up.

I got a chuckle out of seeing them advertise a guest spot by the lady from That Dog though. They're one of those "oh yeah, I saw them in an old Beavis & Butt-Head and absolutely nowhere else ever" bands for me and I didn't realize anyone had even heard of them. Her being married to Steve makes sense though.

How could Kevin Ass not be on this?!
He's not in the band?  Just a wild guess...

The film looks pretty disturbing and not at all like something I'd like to watch D:
Hopefully the album will be more likable for me.

POOP GRENADE

I would really look forward to some more avant garde and noise within this offering.

Very intrigued to see how the soundtrack works in the film.
