A word of warning, NEVER go to that venue [Glen Helen.] Waited three hours to get out of the parking lot. Complete gridlock until approx 2 am when the Sheriff's department finally showed up and started directing traffic. Just a nightmare. I guess we were lucky, some dude said he was stuck there for 5 hours after an Ozzfest show.
Melvins were good, but it was so , so hot, that there was no energy in the place until the sun went down during Primus. I think the 'new song' that Steve sang was a cover of "Savior Machine" by David Bowie.
As mentioned above, Fantomas had problems, but it was my first time seeing them, so it was still good.
Clutch was great, but too short of a set, with no oldies.
Primus had the benefit of the sundown and a great trilogy of songs to finish off with: Wynona/Mud/Jerry.
I've seen Tool seven times previously and this one was the best. They did a few more songs than usual, still nothing off of Undertow, though.
Great bill, decent sound, friendly salespeople, but I am never going to that place again due to the parking lot gridlock.
