Just received the tape(s). Wasn't going to buy it but glad I did. Can't wait for a wax cylinder re-release of the trilogy...

I still rock cassettes that I've owned since the '80s, and have bought maybe a half-dozen new/ltd ed. cassettes in the last 5 yrs. That said, they're not as good as CDs and vinyl, and you're basically an idiot to pay $40 for a double-cassette release no matter how cool the artwork/box is, or even if they had only made 10 of them. Buzz/Dale should have no problem retiring when they want to if stuff like this sells out that quick. 8)

I just want to know what warranted the price of $60?? I bought one even though I was thrown back by the price, I really wanted it and would rather pay 60 than a flippers price.  I've kinda gotten use to it by this point. I can understand the haze and mackie edition stuff because its hand made art. But 60 for two cassettes is crazy. As someone mentioned earlier the vinyl box set didn't cost that. I know those were mass produced but still, not like csssettes cost a lot to make.

The melvins know, for the most part, that limited edition things will sell out. Prices will keep increasing until people stop buying.

$60 was Utech's price for the mail order tape. seems high, but they had all the overhead to worry about. I think we know by now that half the tapes were given to the band to sell however they wanted and they priced them to move at $40. I wish I had a shot at buying the tape for $40 but had to act fast on the $60 in the mail. was it a stupid investment? yeah, maybe I should have bought a can of meat or a jar with a fetus in it instead.  :bs:

same, except change 80's to 90's and half-dozen to one hundred.

i love cassettes, always have always will- they def have that denser/warmer sound you only get from analog

Two cassettes should be less than 20$ for sure. Keith Utech was always a little weird... :-s

i felt that this was super expensive for a tape as well , BUT once i got it my attitude changed . Really nicely done , like the oversized cassette case that houses both of them perfectly. No regrets anymore!
