TOAP Podcast ... Walsby & Buzz
« on: July 07, 2018, 06:36:31 PM »
Part II ... really good convo ... Damian's TOAP podcasts are great ... lots of great guests and a real immersive insider slant on the subculture ... really in-depth but always super chill and relaxed meetings. I searched around for Part I but got bored, it might have just been Walsby I can't remember? ... root it out if you care ... Part II's not really a continuation per se it works as a stand alone interview just fine.

It was a big night out on the town for the Id and the Reptile Brain ...

Well, he said they cost too much to manufacture, as much as a 10". So i guess we could conceivably get more Melvins 10" EP's on vinyl rather than the two song 7"'s.

Haven't been able to listen yet. What's this footnote? Footnote 171 - "Buzz" Osborne & Brian Walsby Part #2

footnote is Damian and his producer/partner(?) discussing/deconstructing the podcast ... only listened to 5 mins. of it so far so can't really expand on that explaination

edit: Melvins discussion starts around 35 minute mark ...

episode 01 of Melvins is #36 of the TOAP podcasts ...

That Crover prank kills me. Imagine that after decades of working together.

That was pretty good. I also liked getting the background on Walsby in the footnotes podcast. I think drumming with the Patty Duke Syndrome with teenage Ryan Adams in NC was the most surprising tidbit.

He dedicated a page of Manchild 3 to that subject. It's informative and hilarious.

I recall Manchild 4 having page-long stories on all of his bands up to that point. Snake Nation was a fun read and the bit on Daddy is hilarious.
