Ive seen them use different octave pedals (not the blue box, other ones) maybe they just tune d-drop (or c- drop) and just use those pedals for a "lower" effect?

but it only usually take about 5 seconds tops to tune the low e string from A to D and vice versa..

yeah, but you have to tune down all the other strings too.
I havent seen them use that much time on tuning.

nah it's just drop A on the E string without tuning the other strings for Boris, The Fool and Kool Legged.

okay, I dont know much about tuning...

I play C# drop myself (I was told this actually, cause it wasnt until recent that I got a tuning box )
and when I do that I tune all the strings down , first the string to D# then the rest like when you tune in standard.
then I tune the E string to C#.

thats why I assumed they tuned that way when they drop to A.

Yep. I don't know anything about tuning but I did notice that.
