I had this planned for a bit and just now got to it, regardless of the timing. So among the nine/ten albums the band put out which of the bunch is your favorite? I picked the albums along with some select releases.

If you don't feel like thumbing through the writeup I ranked them like this:

15. The Bride Screamed Murder (2010)
14. A Walk With Love and Death (Love) (2017)
13. A Walk With Love and Death (Death) (2017)
12. Bassed Loaded (2016)
11. Gift of Sacrifice (Buzzo and Trevor Dunn) (2020)
10. Freak Puke (Melvins Lite) (2012)
9. Crystal Fairy (Crystal Fairy) (2017)
8. This Machine Kills Artists (King Buzzo) (2014)
7. Pinkus Abortion Technician (2018)
6. The Fickle Finger of Fate (Dale Crover) (2017)
5. The Bulls and The Bees (EP) (2012)
4. Everybody Loves Sausages (2013)
3. Hold It In (2014)
2. Three Men and a Baby (Mike and The Melvins) (2016)
1. Tres Cabrones (Melvins 1983) (2013)

))))((((

Great thread idea!! Interesting that mine is so different from yours. I've left out Gift Of Sacrifice (not 2010's!!) and the Mike & The Melvins release from my ranking. Even though they did a little bit of recording to finish up that record (vocals mainly i recall them saying) i don't personally see that as a "new" release. Or at least not one that should fit on a list with these others anyway. Plus because of the difference, i would find it really difficult to position in such a list. As for the rest, im fairly happy with the order. Perhaps on a given day, some would alter a little, but on the whole it's close to what i would go with. Certainly the top 4 is accurate.

It's funny to me to try to sum up each record or have a clear idea about them. Some of the releases i love but then i might hate a couple of songs on them which drags the record as a whole down for me. Tres Cabrones, Hold It In and Basses Loaded being examples of that. Both fine records with a few (IMO) terrible tracks. Ultimately i think - to some extent - that is why my No:1 comes out on top. Absolutely no filler or false steps on that thing.

1. This Machine Kills Artists
2. Freak Puke
3. Crystal Fairy
4. The Bride Screamed Murder
5. A Walk With Love & Death (Death)
6. Hold It In
7. Tres Cabrones
8. The Bulls & The Bees
9. Bassed Loaded
10. Pinkus Abortion Technician
11. Everybody Loves Sausages
12. The Fickle Finger Of Fate
13. A Walk With Love & Death (Love)

I can definitely say from revisiting the albums that Hold It In and The Bulls and The Bees both hold up a lot better than I remember.

I find that a bit with some of the albums. Bride is one that i've grown to enjoy a lot more over the years. For quite a while when it first came out i didn't like it much at all.

I'm not really into ranking music.  It's all subjective and I'm in a good place when any of these albums are playing!

With that said I have a special place for Hold It In.  I had pictured a Melvins & Butthole Surfers colab for years and it turned out sounding just as amazing as I thought it would.  I still hope they get Gibby and the others and make a full collaboration one day.

And their nose and their mouths will bleed!!!!
Because they got a lot of mouths to feed!!!!

    Classic Paul Leary!
Buttholeman is a power tripping emotional abuser.  He censors my posts and says I need mental health help.  He's a jerk.  Please don't listen to him.  People DO love and respect your opinions.  I'm one of those people.  I love you. PM me if you're stressed.

While talking about Paul Leary here was my AMA question for him.

"Hey Paul I really dig the Hold It In album you made with The Melvins. What was it like working with those guys?"

"They are sweethearts, I'm glad they included me in a project. Glad you like it."

1. Freak Puke

Hahaha I remember we had a lot of fun trying to figure out the lyrics to Leon Versus the Revolution years ago.  I'm sure that thread is still around somewhere.

I made this in MS Paint when 4chan had threads where you'd try to guess the redrawn album cover.

His face!
Was a cowboy!
He watched the golden globes!
He murdered the monkey king Murmur, and he can't get up

Lol, I can't not sing it like that. It left a permanent impact
