1991 - Bullhead
« on: August 11, 2005, 09:25:00 PM »
BORIS:

I'd like to take, I'd like to feel wanted
Take 'em up and take 'em down
I'd like to make a lot of, Generate the one eyed males
Build 'em up and let 'em fall
Just lay 'em on and leave the lily tight
Take 'em up and take 'em down
Generate, lay 'em flat like monkey eyed man
Leave 'em built right?
Stand 'em, tie 'em down
It's like sin
Boris likes a lot of little pigs to kick
Makes every single weapon he could ever feed
Boris feed
Let friend stone friend stone lie
Let's make, let's feel wanted
Take 'em up and take 'em down
My shake, mines monkey metal
Boris knows and Boris likes it all
It's like sin
It's a killer, she's killer maker
It reaches in and takes from a value mind, and not awake, still live
20 bulls have the back and see the lions
I got a small, got what they call a lack
A lack of half-way good, but it's all my own
I say I can't, but I really mean I won't
In their arm, or maybe up a nole
I see it all
See Boris has a way of seeing through my eyes

Trying to decipher Your Blessened from recent live shows:

I like your hands
Mr. Cancer, see?
We can make a
We can be
And when your world
Is like your will
We can enjoy
And we can tell
And we can bleed

When man's only distant relative
Has descended on his own
You will know

2x

Your blessened!
I can fill your pain
You're man like
You're friendly
You're (?)

I like your hands
Mr. Cancer, see?
if you CALL ME ON MY CELLY
i'll LET YOU RUB ME BELLY!

Bullhead is the album that got me listening to The Melvins. Ever since I've heard Boris, they've been one of my favourite bands that see constant rotation on my record and cd player.

Watching youtube vids of Zodiac, it sounds like Buzz is singing different stuff each time.

This was the 2nd Melvins album I ever bought and the one that made me a diehard fan. As for the Zodiac lyrics, for all we know Buzz probably is singing different stuff each time.

I think the lyrics to Exorcism are incomplete. I have been trying to figure the ending of the song.

If I were to cover it today, this is what I would use:

Zodiac
######

Locked down
And so I notice
And so of course I let it

Lost in soul
Like the poets
Like a mole low lead

Lost more
A lack of sense
To pounce on ya

Lost,
I fall upon this
And I'm Adonis at home

Once more like the Duchess of Man
Like a T shown one lap

A lost man
Like I told this
For peace only

Crossed
In both solace
In the course of love and man

Lost more
THan both send
It comes with miracles and then

Cross man goes
Like a toad
For peace only

Lost
I was a live
I caught a life-like force-slam

Once more
Like a beautiful name
Like T shown low low low

Cross man
In case you notice
Cross that don't laugh

Cause I can only figure
My time away
I could tell but wish I could prevent
The way we went
You know by the way you spend this
So bored and so left
You can tell by the thought of bigger ones
You save a man.

Oh yeah
I forgot to get my pills
I got to go downtown

Cause I can wear a coat
Like some manly man
You know that the house can live
Like some bandstand mind
I confess I know it's like the timid
Face of man that's hiding
Play in the sandbox
And jump and ever poured just sand

Oh yeah
I forgot to get my pills
I got to downtown
Carmine, I request permission to hit Ragano

Wait 4 months, do a search for "The Melvins Heresy"

Hey guys, here's my take on "ANACONDA."

I looked up the definition of "Lorelei" and it's german...It means "A siren of Germanic legend whose singing lures sailors to shipwreck."

(The initial transcription is not "Lore a lie" I believe that is not correct.)

So I'm going to presume it's "SAIL" not sell, whether the word is "Sail" or "Sell" If it's a nautically referenced Song...then I'm going to go with Sail.

Then I HIGHLY suspected Anaconda may have been the name of the ship after discovering the Lorelei reference, and looked it up and Guess what I found

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Anaconda_(1813)

The lyrics live are more like this from what I've watched them perform live in the more recent years but I think they're pretty loosely open for changes.

Just before the Drums kick in I heard Buzz say: "The doctors said I was crazy"

I can sort of Lorelie
Mine to mine
Lookin' forward 'cuz I can break you
lowly sail
I got something behind me
'Cuz you're the queen
I got loaded where you low
Lowly sail
Little pigs (and) little little heart leaks
(Reptile* ) Thought you'd enjoy  (*could* also be "Lieutenant"* because in military sounds like Lef'tant which is abbreviated and given the description of the 1813 version of the Ship named anaconda)

I got it forward while you low
and I could never quite end it
(I got a little hey) Little Queen
And little hot dog send it for the war

(And I think it's "war" because in Germanic legend about ship wrecks could be related to the first world war where the medieval Legend of Lorelei was probably re-introduced with the U-boats going down. Not to mention "Hotdog" is either a term for a show off or maybe more to do with German Field rations which consisted mainly of Kraut and bratwurst, Or like, you're a hot dog headed into war, that would make you a cocky soldier. I can only speculate The lyrics are inspired by some literature or history.

As for the Guitar lines, there's a few things to note that are different than what the one guy on youtube posted of his guitar play-along.

I've been working on figuring out Anaconda on guitar for a few days, I notice Buzz uses a D style chord for the opening verse and intro and uses his pinky to hammer on with single notes initially, but then changes into your standard power chord for the rest of the verse once it drops to the E chord and back, then back to the D chord formation for the bridge (opening riff) until the last verse which he changes back into the power chord formation for the last riff, and that last riff at the end doesn't use a power chord at the end where the build goes, or rather he doesn't play the root, and uses the Third and bends it a bit...it's those little sneaky things I think I missed the first couple times, watch his hand formation in some live footage to see where he makes the switches.

"Wrap the rest of this song around That!...fucker"
