According to Ipecac, AntAcidAudio will be releasing it, titled "The Monkees Uncle". An east coast tour would be nice too.

I read that as well, what great news! Its been way too long since 'Our Darling' came out, I need my Crover fix

Ozma

I don't know the band at all, how does it sound ?
MELVINS : making ear deflorations since 1984

Dale's on guitar and singing with the rhythm section from Acid King basically on bass and drums, its slippery dirty southern style gritty rock, with weird jam improv noise parts on the solos and almost a 60s Hendrix vibe on the guitar and recording style. They had 3 CDs out on Koziks old label: Civil war fantasy' and Our Darling, both great, they also have the Acid King/Altamont debut split CD but the songs on there are noodly synth stuff..

and theyve been touring but no new CD til now

every time i listen to the altamont albums, i want to give them a fair chance and really listen, but i can't get through them...maybe i'm just not in the right mood.  the music is fine and all, it's well recorded and all that good stuff, but i just found the style of rock too generic.  not really boring, or predictable, but the sound was just not new to me.
anyone else not really a fan?  maybe for the same reasons?

Altamont puts out great records. Conda gave a perfect description of what they sound like.

I've seen Altamont 3 times and i've seen the fake Altamont once by mistake.

Altamont/Melvins show was one of the greatest concerts I have been to. Dale fronting on guitar then stripping down to play drums.

Anyone know what happened to the Porn European tour?

I'm almost positive it's the other way around. The rhythm section of Altamont played as Acid King on the two AK tracks.

Noodly synth stuff? "Wanted: Dead Or Alive" starts out weird and slow, but try listening again all the way through. There's some really rockin shit on there -(Sally Greensnake, Pluto Closes Shop). And one of the tracks(can't remember now) is sort of "the son of" Lividity from Stoner Witch.

Civil War Fantasy is the best one so far. Picked it up for $5 at the '03 Melvins/Tomahawk show!

thats why i said 'basically' - joey osbourne is currently still the drummer in both altamont and AK though. not certain about the bassist since guy pinhead left AK, but Dan Southwick is still holding down the thunder log in Altamont.

Right, it can get confusing. Their new bass player is Rafael Martinez(drummer for Black Cobra, also a six-stringer?). Damn, I really want to see Acid King hit the east coast before year's end too. Doesn't make sense that they're planning on hitting Europe first in Oct.

i thought they were doin that because theyre going out with Porn on their Euro tour. Double dose of Dale for all those Euros out there.

Yeah! Exactly the same here. Same thing with Porn too. Pretty good, but not exactly lighting my lemon.

Who are the fake altamont??
"SwingSet you look like a bunch of guys I know in Ireland.  It's a particular  look I can't describe.  A sort of don't fuck with me or I'll kill you look.
I mean all this in the nicest possible way of course"
