I actually found a copy of Houdini at Goodwill, believe it or not, and that sparked my love for Melvins. It seems absurdly fitting somehow.

What's Goodwill? At an uneducated guess, is it like a poor man's Walmart?

That's one of the most apt descriptions of Goodwill that I've ever read. It's a big store full of donated stuff people can buy.

Where the coolest rich kids buy their clothes.

That said, here's my take on American cities: It's rich white kids acting poor with poor black kids acting white.

))))((((

I was thinking about the band and their music recently when listening to something else and i realised something. For all the albums of theirs i feel were a bit below par or had a few really terrible songs or false steps, one criticism you truly can't level at the band is that their records are boring. They are definitely NOT boring ever! When you think about it, that's actually quite an achievement. So many bands put out identikit releases or variations on the same old, same old. Yet with Melvins however much i might not personally like a certain release or such i can't deny they keep things interesting.

Well almost 10 years later and nothing's changed for me. What perspective.
