Clip from this story the other day:

QuoteBLACK SABBATH COVER BAND REHEARSALS (BSCBR) — the BLACK SABBATH tribute act featuring Brad Truax (INTERPOL), Mick Barr (OCRILIM, KRALLICE), Greg Fox, Nick Zinner (YEAH YEAH YEAHS), and Angel Deradoorian (DIRTY PROJECTORS, DERADOORIAN) — has shared its version of "Sweet Leaf". The track is taken from the group's upcoming single, "Master Of Rehearsal", which is due on September 4 via Famous Class Records.

I'm very fortunate that my friend had a very high quality video camera back in 2007.  I think we captured the only complete show from that year in very good quality.  I got a couple of BB songs in there too!

Also you'll hear early versions of Billy Fish, Let Me Roll It, I want to hold your hand, and Suicide in Progress on there.  Interesting hearing how those evolved.

I know there's plenty of debate about "Revolve" from us boardies. But I ask you haters honestly, if "Revolve" had debuted on any of the last four Melvins studio albums, wouldn't it have been the best song on the record?

I mean it's all subjective anyway.  I love Embrace The Rub as it clearly "rubbed" the narrow minded fans that want every song to song like Honey Bucket the wrong way.

Yes - although the guitar playing would not be as shredding. That song is amazing.

It's kinda like how "Euthanasia" was the best song on the double album. Almost wished that song could have been on PAT or Basses Loaded instead.

"Sober-Delic" and "Flaming Creature" want a word with you.

The first disc of A Walk with Love and Death might actually be my favourite Melvins record since Nude with Boots.

Yeah, i feel like the "Death" side of AWWL&D gets unfair criticism. Black Heath, Soberdelic, Euthanasia and Flaming Creature are all really good songs!

Im not a fan of What's Wrong...' though. That's easily the biggest offender to me - Steve McDonald there with his goofy, pop sensibilities. Maybe 'Christ Hammer' is another im not overly fond of too but to a lesser extent.

It's absolutely true. I could live without "What's wrong with you", but the rest of the songs range from "very good" to "great" for me.

€: I just saw your edit. I nearly forgot "Christ Hammer", and while it is far from my favourite on that record, I still like it, though the "chorus" with Steve singing is kinda weak.

My personal song order might be as following:
Sober-Delic > Flaming Creature > Euthanasia >= Black Heath > Cactus Party > Edgar the Elephant >= Cardboa Negro > Christ Hammer > What's Wrong with You.

Funny in retrospect that the two songs they released before AWWLAD came out might actually be the weakest ones on the "more regular" first disc.

Yes, i had actually forgot What's Wrong was a preview song prior to release. With that whole album i can't help but always wish it had been ONE single thing. No Death and Love sides. In a previous thread i came up with this track order for a single record. I think it would have been pretty good like this. Very little filler and flows well.
