I think the problem was this was an FNM crowd. In many cases it could be the promoter's fault. They don't trust the headliner to draw ticket buyers so they cross-promote to the larger associated act and end up with a mystified audience. Sometimes this just happens organically, though.

Absolutely. What's weirdest about all of this, is that Patton's physical appearance is responsible for 80% of these fans. He was 90s cute.
For reason of lookism that was enough to attract people that otherwise wouldn't have touched any of this music to save their lives.

I think the biggest thing i took away from that footage is that Dale plays very different now compared to then. It was full on power back then whereas now i would say he is much less physical and embellishes with little additional improv bits a lot more. It is pretty bonkers that those in attendance look so pissed off by the band.

The biggest difference is: 30 years. But that's not important... because the biggest commonality is that the melvins were always on top of everything/anybody else!

I quite like how how his style has evolved over the years. The power is still there and he holds a much better groove and feel for what suits each song.
That said, watching young Crover go Animal on his kit will forever be satisfying.

I noticed it was different. It also seemed a bit off in parts. Im not sure if that is because im now so used to the EGC sound or perhaps because it wasn't Buzzo's own rig. Another thing - is this a green screen set up? It looks a little weird like Buzz isn't actually there.
