:D tell me, what do you think of Don't Shoot?

im not impressed with the video or song. and i really wanted to be impressed. :(

the video reminds me of a commercial for some reason... maybe its the form of animation used?
i went into it with low expectations, so i was somewhat satisfied. it's never going to be up to the level of their first few albums... but it is better than smooth noodle maps. that album dissapoints me in so many ways.

id love to see them when they tour! i think i cried myself to sleep when i saw that they were performing q: are we not men in its entirety.  :(

Twist away the gates of steel
Unlock the secret voice
Give in to ancient noise
Take a chance a brand new dance
Twist away the gates of steel

Twist away
Now twist and shout
The earth it moves too slow
But the earth is all we know
We pay to play the human way
Twist away the gates of steel

A man is real
Not made of steel

But the earth is all we know
We pay to play the human way
Twist away the gates of steel

The beginning was the end
Of everything now
The ape regards his tail
Hes stuck on it
Repeats until he fails
Half a goon and half a god
A mans not made of steel

Twist away
Now twist and shout
The earth it moves too slow
But the earth is all we know
We pay to play the human way
Twist away the gates of steel

 Freedom of Choice was my fav Devo album when I was little, which makes sense cuz I still love it.  I love the synth in the beginning of that song!

Twist away the gates of steel

My favorite Devo song! A perfect showcase of their sophisticated composing skills.

One week left before I get to see them :)

you're all nuts...Duty Now is their best record...way better than any of their others. after that, go for Hardcore I & II. (Red Eye Express, mofos!)

to bring this back to the thread, am I the only one sometimes put off a bit by the Third Reich refs? The poster with the eagle emblem looks great, but very hard to make a clean break imo...same with all the past use of the iconography in melvins releases...oddly, the only one time it didn't give me the creeps was with the Trilogy vinyl...it makes sense there for some reason.

Yah, I think Buzz has a hard on for Hitler.
Although, I think the pedo-sticker/nambla sticker Dale used to have on his drum kid bugged me more.

one thing to keep in mind.... have either of these men been serious about much of anything, ever? they have a taste for the absurd, and offensive, and i can relate.

lets look at the talking horse video... i cant remember guys name in that video, but he has been in every trey parker/matt stone film ever made. im only guessing that they all might be buddies on some level. and south park has to be one of the most heart fillingly offensive creations ever.
he was a mongoloid.

buzz's nazi fascination stems from the fact that he's a WWII buff i think.

did dale seriously have a pedobear sticker?

He had a nambla sticker; I should have a picture of it, Anaconda prob. does, around the 2000 tour.

I'm looking through my archives for an image, until then here's confirmation from a review:

" drummer Dale Crover is almost as much of a spectacle as King Buzzo with his ridiculously
large drum kit complete with a NAMBLA sticker strategically placed above a modified
Confederate flag sticker. "
