It was a phenomenal
show, The Melvins hadn't played in Providence since late fall
of 97' when they were (ugggh) opening for Helmet. I've
travelled to see them all over New England and was glad to see
them play a few miles away for a change. I got to meet the band
in 98' at Ozzfest in Mansfield, MA . Dale/Kevin were great,
Buzz was grumpy as usual, Kevin signed his autograph - Kevin
Ass. Speaking of Kevin, a note about one of the pics from this
show, he had his back towards me and I thought it'd be funny to
snap a shot like I was shooting up his "dress" and he got a bit
cranky and after a minute he grabbed my hand and made me play
his bass with it for about 10-15 seconds. Hope I didn't piss
him off, I was just fooling around, I mean this IS the Melvins,
I've seen them go onstage and not play any of their songs, just
a cornicopia of sonic assailment, so they must have a sense of
humour, right ?
