Melvins/Isis split 12" should be out in time for U.S. Tour

Aaron Turner of ISIS posted the layout art for the upcoming split 12" that will be out on Hydra Head Records this summer, hopefully in time for the tour dates they'll be doing together. The Melvins side will include alternate versions of 'Pig House' & 'I'll Finish You Off' - two songs on the next full length 'The Bride Screamed Murder' which is set to be released June 1st on Ipecac.

Newbury Comics has The Bride Screamed Murder available for pre-order and it comes with a bonus signed CD Booklet.

The next Melvins full-length, entitled "The Bride Screamed Murder" is set to be released via Ipecac on June 1st. North American tourdates have been announced and they've also released the cover art and tracklisting.

The Austrian magazine Rokko’s Adventures put out a special issue, 92 pages dedicated only to the Melvins, including exclusive photos. From The Nursery, artist/writer Bob Nickas' new label has just released a new Melvins 12" EP(as far as I know the label has no website). - "A limited edition three-track 12-inch EP from MELVINS featuring a long version of “Dies Iraea” and a remix of “It Tastes Better Than The Truth” on the A-side (performed by the line-up of KING BUZZO, DALE CROVER, JARED WARREN and COADY WILLIS in 2008), and a 9-minute version of The Wipers’ “Youth of America” on the flip (featuring Buzz, Dale and KEVIN RUTMANIS, recorded by TIM GREEN at Louder in 2000). None of these tracks have appeared on vinyl prior. Limited to 2,000 copies (with 1,500 for distribution) pressed on silver/gray vinyl, with artwork by STEVEN PARRINO. Named “Record of the Month” in the February, 2010 issue of Vice Magazine." Best place to get it right now is Midheaven.

First Melvins show of 2010 scheduled for San Francisco + more

Melvins will be playing their first show of 2010 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA on January 2nd.
rock-a-rolla.com posted a quote from Buzz regarding the new Melvins album they'll be recording sometime early next year for a middle of 2010 release: The unstoppable Melvins will hit the studio in February ’10 to record the follow-up to 2008’s Nude With Boots, Buzz revealed to Rock-A-Rolla recently. “I have maybe 300 songs, so we’ll choose, you know, about 55 – 60 minutes, from that” he told us. The LP, scheduled for a late spring/summer release via Ipecac, will feature a song Buzz “wrote in the 90s”.

Dale played drums on Lou Barlow of Dinosaur Jr./Sebadoh fame's new album entitled 'Goodnight Unknown'.
Revolution Tattoo & Art Gallery of Chicago held a Melvins Art Show in Chicago the night of the Shrinebuilder show. It was a successful night, they sold all of the artwork pictured and donated all of the proceeds (a little over $1500.00) to the Paul Green School of Rock - photos here.

The show in Minneapolis is part of the 4-day NON Consensual POST Dada CONSTRUCTIVIST Cerebral WARTS Art/Music/Film Event 2009. The Melvins set will be a Buzz/Dale duo and they will be performing in 'Security Cam Vision' which means - "At the back of the gallery is a large room with 3 huge windows facing the gallery. Those windows wil be covered with white screen and heavily backlit. There will also be multiple security cams in the "live room" broadcasting to the gallery on a big screen, as well as several junk TV's placed through out the space - just what's occurring in the "live room".
