Melvins Show Reviews / Buzzo in Boston-7/10/14
July 09, 2014, 09:18:26 PM
Who's going? I'll be there!

We all know that Eye Flys is the only song from Gluey Porch Treatments that's still played live.  As far as I know Leeech was played as recently as 2000, and all the other songs are long retired. If the Melvins were to ever play something else from Gluey again (I think it may happen one of these days), which song would you most like them to do? My vote goes to Echohead/Don't Piece Me.

This has probably been done before, but here's one I just came up with, with the main 4 piece lineup in mind:

1.Lividity
2.The Bloat
3.Buck Owens
4.The War On Wisdom
5.Little Judas Chongo
6.The Brain Center At Whipples
7.The Anti-Vermin Seed
8.A Growing Disgust
9.The Smiling Cobra
10.We Are Doomed
11.Pig House
12.Leon Vs. The Revolution
13.Freak Puke
14.Let Me Roll It
15.Electric Flower
16.Hospital Up
17.Magic Pig Detective
18.A Vast Filthy Prison

Tracks 1-10 drop d songs, 11-18 standard tuning songs. I think it has a good flow to it, and I think opening with Lividity into The Bloat would be incredible.  They could do a noise outro for Hospital Up (to mimic the rubber chicken jazz), which would also serve as the noise intro to Magic Pig Detective! We're all used to hearing Magic Pig Detective lead into Shevil, a nice slow mellow song that makes a great closer, and I think A Vast Filthy Prison would work well as a Shevil substitute.

I thought this could be an interesting topic. Let me get the ball rolling:
Has anyone ever noticed that Buzz plays Anaconda live a little differently than on Bullhead? On the recording he strums a Db power chord, while live he plays a C power chord for that part.

I'm talking about the part that starts at 1:21:

Melvins Discussion / "Never Breath.." cover art kicks ass!

I thought the Pigs art was real good (simple and different), but the Never Breath cover is much better!

Poor zebra.

Melvins Discussion / Pigs Of The Roman Empire is out!
August 24, 2004, 01:27:49 PM
Yeahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! :D
And, I'm going to the store later today to pick it up. I've got it reserved for me. :) I can't wait to hear this album (I've only heard The Bloated Pope).

On a sidenote, I also recently got the King Buzzo EP, and I love it! Ausome! I love Annum, it's just beautiful and creepy. And the structure for Isabella is just ausome, and totally creative.

"No, I think it's lint".  Wahhh???!!

Melvins Discussion / Melvins lyric game
July 13, 2004, 05:13:34 PM
Once a person figures out what the Melvins song is, they can post their own lyrics for people to figure out. I'll start out:

"like someone took a coathanger..."
