Aha - yeah I can see how that would read as me just phoning it in.

I actually spent forever on the design, but forgot they were due at the venue on the 7th. Around 6pm (in the middle of dinner) I texted Swampy just to check when they were supposed to be dropped off. When he replied "Tonight, dummy" I raced to my shop and cranked the prints out. The design was already done, I just printed them at the last minute.

Sorry if I seemed defensive!

No worries.

i like it a lot, took me a little while to find the date and band name, well done!!! i consider this more art then just a show poster.

Well put, I could picture it more as an album cover.  That picture is really sick! I love it!

Damn, that's a lazy poster.

Sorry, that was a little harsh.  It was just my initial reaction to reading that it was one color, "cranked out in a single evening".  Also, in my opinion a gig poster should feature the gig info a little more prominently (it took me a minute to find it as well).  It does look cool, just more of an art print than a gig poster.

The poster is really nice,IMO. Well done.

Brilliant story, Ian!   And what harm has Ian ever done to Fart that he deserves to be harrassed no matter what he writes, even when it's funny and brilliant as fuck? Digger > Nigger and an Fuck > Shut!

I think it's a stunning image.

Whether it be good or bad feedback, any poster that can create two pages of discussion deserves a pat on the back/job well done.

Art exists to talk about things, or to simply make conversation.

Well yeah. What's the point if there's nothing to discuss?

Oh i didn't mean it like that. I agree. I just thought it was interesting to single those things out above or before the fact that art can, or does also reveal or display a sort of truth or beauty or understanding or narrative. I don't know, those things are tricky to define or put into words. Im personally not usually so interested in art that merely opens up a dialogue of some sort tho.

I don't mean to be awkward there i just find all that interesting to consider.
