Melvins Discussion / Re: Mike and the Melvins
October 31, 2015, 08:29:57 PM
Sub Pop paid for the recording sessions... so the Melvins are probably not allowed to really use those recordings from 15 years ago on another label.  I guess they were able to work something out with the label after all this time and found an interest in finishing the album.

Now, i have no idea why the REASON they were involved with SP in the first place, but whatever, I know it'll be great!

IT looks like B&TB is still available to stream on scion a/v, but not to actually save the mp3's.  Is there anywhere on the scion AV website to still download the mp3's?  (not just stream)

Thanks

Melvins Discussion / Is Jared still in the band?
March 12, 2015, 03:55:09 PM
Is Jared still in the Melvins?  I know he went on maternity leave a long time ago, but that was YEARS ago.  they've since been touring with either Trevor or Pinkus, over the past couple years.  Will he ever come back?

Hey guys, anyone notice that the pre-order price of the cd on amazon.com was lowered to $10 instead of $11.99?  No mention of my copy being shipped yet though

P!nkus is only 45!  Don't age him.

He started the finger picking long ago when he started Honky.

He started in the Butts in 86 when he was 17.

Paul is the pop song god!  If you listen to the Butts they really are very poppy overall.

I am sorry for my mistaken information, I thought I read somewhere that his birth year was 1958 but that is some wrong info.  Thank you for lettin me know!

Jeff Pinkus really is a great bassist too, he is like 56 now, so he's probably playing for around 40 years

Don't know, I think he was just wingin' the song titles.  all of the song titles are pretty similar to the ones that were on the past few Melvins albums, and there probably isn't much to be read into.

i checked the amrep website and they are all sold out.  i wish they had released more copies

i was just going by the article, i don't know if it's 100% accurate, it just said "17 originals", and that the 4 originals from the 10" would appear on the full-length cd.  i copied and pasted below:

I recall reading an article that said the 2 original songs on the 10" will be on the solo album

Buzz actually did play a little bit of acoustic guitar on a few Melvins songs in the past.  I think there was one near the end of Bootlicker, and a song on Tres Cabrones, if I'm not mistaken.

Jared should do a bass and vocals album

The King Buzzo cd will be all-new songs, no re-workings of old ones.

is it all new songs, or will there be some acoustic versions of some older Melvins songs, like Boris, etc?
