Why, for the love of fucking god, has no one, ever, asked Mr. Osborne about his connection to Jeff Buckley?1? Blows my mind. Sorry.

Blows my mind. Sorry.
yeah, is weird actually. I'd heard they were buds but that's about as detailed as the story got ...

he did some weird music before ultimately becoming a pop poster boy
gotta disagree. Buckley was an amazing singer and songwriter and the pop label doesn't exactly fit. he had a huge musical iq and his music was far from simple or formulated.
Vince, why are you arguing with the dead?
This would be a good question for a Buzz interview.
I like that he covered a 70s Genesis tune but I always thought Grace was boring

Guaranteed win
He used to give it to me pretty good. Seems like he'd want it that way. :D
I've never heard about this connection. Pretty interesting!
Funnily enough I did in fact ask them this very question a long long time ago....2001 I think and from memory Buzz and Dale didn't have any idea what the shout out to them and Shostakovich was about other than presumably he liked the Melvins and Buzz's compositional skills. Not convinced that they knew each other but Dale did see that he was wearing an Altamont t shirt on the news when he first heard about Jeff's untimely death, and also that he didn't have the first clue where he got it.
That's interesting. Thanks! I always thought maybe they crossed paths while recording or something.
