This one was the most unexpected. Great song! Probably the best "closer" in their catalog with the exception of Prig.

QuoteTeet

This is a great (and underrated) tune, though I think Dale bested the Houdini version on the Gluttony and Lust album. Love the updated drum fills!

For the record, I abstained from selecting any covers. For example, Youth of America would be an obvious pick for Electrotetard because it's fucking awesome, but it's a Wipers cover. I also excluded live albums, collabs with Mudhoney, Shitkid, etc or comps like Chicken Switch which are other band's interpretations of Melvins songs (although I love The Silky Apple Butter of Youth). I was inconsistent here because I included the Biafra albums, the Crybaby and Three Men and a Baby which could be considered collabs.

I'd love to hear your favorite non-album / b-side pick too!

Honestly for me that is probably a top 5 Melvins song of ALL time! It's THAT good. The lyrics, their delivery, the long build up and awesome conclusion. Heavenly!

Yeah, AVS is up in the top 5 ... 10? It's up there, way up. It was really cool getting to actually hear/see that song done live. They killed it. Also, Grin, hell yeah ... great picks Ian.

Yes, even if in more recent years some of the albums have been a little patchy at times, there are still always a great song contained within!
