Ditto everything CTB said. Ghostdigital was funny, and the people who didn't get the joke made it even funnier. When he asked us all to "shiff the love" and then demonstrated, hysterical. I got the second to last Octopus shirt on the tour, right off the display. Hooray for me. The venue was really cool looking, it was a gutted cinema, and that's exactly what it looked like, with tiny clusters of movie seats still left and a projection both I saw the Porn guys hanging out in at the beginning of the night. I think when Porn played Moss tried his microphone during the first song, didn't hear anything, and left the set entirely instrumental. Was that just my imagination? BB set was awesome, Dale was great on guitar. Infact, Dale was really "the king" (snicker...eh...) all night. Very much the 'Dale Crover Show' and I was lucky enough to have a perfect view of the splinters flying off the drumsticks.
Best concert I've seen in years!

What was the cover they played when Buzz finally came out and the proper Melvins set started? Or was it a new Big Business song? (I know it wasn't off (A)SA, because I managed to find a "promo copy"...)

Ghostigital was there for the same reason that End was on the Fantomas '04 tour. I think of it as comic relief, all in good fun. I could think of a few other better Ipecac artists I'd much rather see in that slot who haven't toured with them yet - mainly Guapo & Messur Chups.

I didn't like the octopus shirt. It looked too much like half the Isis shirts. I don't know about the first Melvins song, I assumed it was off the new one. It was like a "march into hell" or something.

I missed Messer Chups last month, goddamnit! They also playeed at a festival I went to but I chosed not to see them there, but I would have loved to see them on this boat in Amsterdam. Ah well, Mogwai tonight, Murder Junkies tomorrow and some stoner and doom stuff Thursday (Church of Misery, Sourvein) and maybe Faust on Friday.

Wow, that sounds busy. :D

I think I saw that on youtube, it was really low quality on sound, but it definatly was really "marching" ...
I couldnt find it now though.

I think it's a twisted version of Just As The Day Was Dawning.

Yup, that's the song.
Who originally recorded "Just As The Day Was Dawning?" Is this that song?

MisterBear

for anyone interested i recorded the Big Business-Melvins set and have a torrent running over at dime-adozen of the big bussiness portion now.  Melvins portion forthcoming, maybe later tonite.  the tape turned out great and melvins ripped.  check it out if you can.  thanx for the setlist!

Big Business has made and recorded that one.
But I dont think its that song they are playing in the video.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I was there early, heard the soundcheck. They did Civilized Worm, long drum soundcheck(sounded like Spread Eagle Beagle), +  bits of Day Tripper & Machine Gun. That was worth getting there early & standing around.

Dog Tired

someone should put something up through yousendit ... not everyone has dimeadozen nor can get on to it.

Thanks for posting this show. I attended. It was great. Which really made my day, especially after the horrible show I went to two years ago http://www.themelvins.net/forum/index.php?topic=1814.0
The entire band was into the set and it showed. Great show.

If I remember correctly, End was received better from the crowd, maybe becasue he lacked a mic.
